Crispy Curry Puff  OK Dec 30, 2011
Categories : Singaporean Chinese

My colleague bought a box of this 1A Crispy Curry Puff to the office. From the experience of eating curry puffs, we guessed that the one with red dot should be the Sardine one and we were right. So I had the Sardine one. The curry puff is really crispy. As I was eating, I need to put a waste paper basket below so that all the crisp can fall into the basket. The fillings were generous but the sardine was a bit too dry, salty and spicy.

Nando's Peri Peri Smile Dec 28, 2011

Menu

Menu

It was our first time dining at Nando's. Love the Portuguese setting of the restaurant. First thing I notice when I glance through the menu was that there's a lot of the term Peri-Peri. Peri-Peri sauce chicken, Peri-Peri Platters, Peri-Peri corns and Peri-Peri chips. Just when I was about to ask the waitress what is Peri-Peri, I saw in the menu a column titled "The Peri Peri Story." To summary the whole thing, Peri Peri simply refer to their special chili sauce which originated from the fiery little African Bird's Eye Chilli. The Peri-Peri sauce is a spice that is totally unique to them. Herbs, fresh lemon and garlic were added to this chili. After looking at the Peri-O-Meter, we decided to just have the mild Peri-Peri Half chicken completed with Peri Chips and Corns.

It was love at first bite for the mild Peri-Peri flame-grilled chicken. They used fresh chicken instead of frozen chicken and was so well marinated that the flavours goes right through to the bone! This dish cost S$ 22.90

We also ordered their designer drinks called Madeira Red. It was a sweet and fizzy lemonade mixed with Sprite and is nice, sweet and refreshing costing $4.90.

Lighten Up Chocolate Cake

We end off our meal with a $7.90 Lighten Up Chocolate Cake. The cake was light and not too chocolaty but I felt that $7.90 was a little bit too expansive.

Overall, a nice dinning experience. The service was excellent and food was served promptly.

This restaurant is rather inaccessible from my house but since my colleague invited me to attend a birthday dinner of a singing teacher, I felt that I should go and try out the food. When I reached the place, I felt as if I'm attending a wedding dinner! The stage in front was nicely decorated with balloons, flowers and people were singing and dancing on stage. I liked the layout of the restaurant. It's spacious enough to move around from one table to another and the view to the stage is unblock.

The food were served in one after another. Exactly as if I'm attending a wedding banquet. First the cold dish, next the shark fin, steamed fish, Roasted Chicken, Cereal prawn, braised abalone with spinach, fried rice in lotus leaf and lastly the dessert. Usually, there would be one or two dishes which I don't really like but at this restaurant, all the 8 dishes were so delicious that I ate alot and was so bloated after the dinner.

The food are above average standard and is even better compared to some hotel's restaurant. This is a place to consider for holding a wedding banquet. Yummy!

Grilled Chicken Curry Rice Smile Dec 26, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Food Court

This is a very popular stall located at Suntec's Fountain Food Terrace. The curry rice and chili is awesome. They were generous to covered the rice with the curry sauce. The chicken was marinated with and grilled with their special sauce which makes it so delicious. The skin and flesh were soft and tender. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

I'm not a very big fan of deep, fried snacks but since this is my mum's favourite, I thought I might as well just try one to see why she liked it so much. After trying one piece, I felt that the taste is quite similar to normal french fries but this is fried using sweet potato. After deep frying the sliced sweet potato. Some plum powder were added to enhance the flavour. The auntie at the stall was nice enough to ask whether we wanted to add the powder or not.
