Sunday craving - Chili's!
The last time we had Chili's was at Tanglin Mall and was impressed with the service. Same goes for here. smile

We ordered 3 dishes.
Triple Dipper where you get to choose 3 starters.
We had the buffalo wings, big mouth bites(which was small bites burger) & texas cheese balls.
The buffalo wings was yummy. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. Big mouth bites was bite sized cheeseburger. The beef patty was juicy! Texas cheese balls was cheesy! The cheese just burst into your mouth when you bite on it.

We had the classic nachos as well.
Didn't really like it as the nachos was not crispy enough.
3rd dish we had was Chile shrimp Quesadilla.
Impresseive as I thought the shrimp will be tiny but it was huge! The combination of shrimp, cheese, corn salsa and jalapeño was great. Very appetising!
Chile Shrimp Quesadilla - $23

Kouign Aman & Lemon Curd Tart Smile Jan 15, 2013

{Lemon Tart} - $6
Tangy and zesty! The lemon just burst into your mouth like super lemon sweets!
Not a fan of the crust as it was very hard & had a hard time breaking it with my fork/knife.

{Kouign Aman} - $3.50
Oh so sinful but super delicious.
The topped sweet caramel versus the layered buttery pastry is such a great match.
*salivating as I am typing*
Must not leave TBB without trying this.

AWESOME service! Smile Jan 15, 2013

Decided to try this famous steamboat restaurant chain from China after seeing some pictures that my friends posted on instagram. I did not regret at all.
We called to make a reservation and was advised that it will be very packed if we were to come at 6pm. So the lady told us maybe we could wait till 7pm. Left our no. with them and they said they will try to get us a table when we arrive.

Arrived at 7pm. Went to counter to tell them that we called just now. And the waitress actually remembered our names. Pretty impressive. There was a waiting area outside where snacks/drinks were served while waiting. There was even a section for ladies to do their manicure while waiting.
There was a playground for kids too!
I was wow-ed.

Was seated within 10 minutes which was pretty lucky.
Maybe because we called earlier? Maybe they thought we were some VIP.
Nevertheless, we were happy to get a table so fast.

Orders are done through IPad and the waitress will advise on the serving size.
She told us to order half serving instead of full since there was only 2 of us.
We ordered the Ma La (obvious choice) and a non-spicy broth.

It was a pity I didn't took more pictures of the interior as it was very cosy and comfortable.
Food was fresh and came quick.
The waitresses were quick to service and help whenever we need.
Offered to peel the prawns for us.

I was very much impressed with the service.
They gave us an apron, a cloth to wipe my glasses, a ziplock bag for my handphone.
Oh!And a band for me to tie my hair up.
Awesome awesome service.
You have to go to experience it. smile

Will definitely go back again!
Spent $80 for 2 persons.
Slight expensive but for the service, I certainly do not mind.

The best Char Siew! Smile Jan 15, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Coffeeshop | Roasted Meat

Arrived at 11.40 to beat the lunch queue but who knows there was already a queue.
The wait was about 10mins. If you are dining there, you just have to tell the lady your orders and it will be send promptly to you.

We ordered the full platter which includes roasted duck, sio bak and char siew.
Not a fan of duck so I was not too impressed with it.
It was too chewy and rubbery and very hard to swallow.
Sio Bak was crispy and yummilicious.
You could hear the crisp when you bite on it.
Highly recommended.

Next the Char Siew was the BEST I HAVE EVEN EATEN.
It was the right texture and right proportion of fats vs lean meat.
If you are there for the char siew, just go all out.
No point saying that the meat is too fat because it is MEANT to be fat anyway.

Last but not least, the fragrant rice!
I could simply just eat it with the gravy!!
The gravy was of the right googy-ness and taste.
I love my gravy and I was glad that they are very generous with it by giving us an extra bowl of it when we asked for it.

Overall I would go back for it.
But please go early. The queue gets super long during lunchtime.

Total bill was $22 for 2 persons.
