Big Bear is a Newly Opened Joint located opp the bustling Bugis Junction at Tan Quee Lan Street. Offering Western & Italian Dishes, as well as delicious snacks to go with the range of alcaholic beverages available.
The dish I would definitely Recommend would be their Bear Love Chips - $13.90, Which simply means Fish & Chips. The Fish is coated in a crunchy batter and the fish inside is tender and fresh. Pair it with the Special Orange Mustard Sauce, It is sure to be a Popular on the table.
Another Dish to highlight would be their Hawaiian Pork Chops - $16.90. Look at the size of that thing, You might think that It's too thick and will turn out tough, But NO, The juicy meat if fully infused with flavour and every bite is a pleasure. Pair it with the pineapple sauce to bring out more flavour. You won't Regret!
If you do not like meat that much, You can go for their Norwegian Salmon fillet served with a herb-butter gherkin sauce $17.90. It is a special sauce that I have tasted anywhere else with salmon fillet. Do inform the Waiter that you do not want the salmon to be over cooked! When the salmon is just nicely cooked, It is so tender and it breaks off easily with the slight push of my fork. The Butter gherkin sauce complemented the fish really well, strong but not too over-powering.
If you want something Light, Try the Big Bear Salad $10.90. With Italian Balsamic Dressing, Strips of Bacon, Crispy croutons and Fresh Vegetables, Topped with a Poached Egg and Bacon Bits. Refreshing Start to a meal or you can have it on its Own if you do not want to have too much for dinner. Enough sauce to go around the whole salad which I Personally love and the flowly Egg Yolk is just a BONUS!
If you crave for some Carbohydrate, Go for their Bacon Aglio Olio - $18.90. You are sure to be paying for what you are having at Big Bear's because they are so generous with their Ingredients that you wont feel short of anything but Full Enjoyment. Al dente Pasta with Lots of Garlic and ALOT of Bacon pieces that are not too huge but not too small. Just nice where you can taste it in your mouth but not making you feel oily.
Recommended Dessert is this Banana Sabayon - $13.90. A new twist in banana dessert covered in a unique egg sauce served with vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce. THIS HAS TO BE MAGICAL! How did a Egg Sauce complement the Fresh Banana So much? Eat it with or without the Vanilla Ice Cream, This dish will make you crave for a second!
