Delicious Thai Food In Ang Mo Kio Smile Jan 08, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Seafood | Kids-Friendly

With so many Thai food joint opening up in Singapore, it is hard to find tasty and affordable ones located in the heartlands. I know there are places like Nakhon Kitchen but there is always a long queue ma, So today I'm going to introduce to you a place that has cheap and Good Thai Food in Ang Mo Kio.

Located at Blk 408 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 #01-773 Singapore 560408, near the famous 409 Market is this little Thai food joint has a striking orange signboard that is hard to miss.

With so many versions of Fried Mince Pork/Chicken with Basil Leaf in the market, where are the truly good ones? Sukhothai Kitchen's Version is pretty good in my opinion. With just the right amount of spiciness and flavour, It's addictive with the crunch of the long beans together.

Sukhothai's Home made Prawn Cakes are not oily and you can really see the prawn meat in it. I have not tried prawn cakes before despite many visits to thai joints but this does leave a good impression!

Decent Brunch Place to Visit Smile Jan 08, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

Tucked in a corner in Changi City Point is Egg & Berries. Many have visited this place and I had to try it out too.
Elegant and full of seats to accomadate as much diners as possible might be their motto but I find it a little squeezy myself.

I had the egg Benedict Solo and It wasn't too bad, I liked their "hashbrown" which is a Rosti and the bacon was delicious too, I guess no one can go wrong with Bacon.

Another dish I would like to highlight would be their truffle Fries. It's $10 each for a satisfying time, Though I feel the truffle aroma flavour could be enhanced.

Over All Experience is delightful. smile

A Little Hideout in Tampines Smile Jan 08, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

This Little hideout at Tampines caught me by surprise at how cosy the interior is and the flavours they have to offer.

The Interior of the place is cosy with tables not adding up to 10 but it's spacious enough for a little get together with friends over some Gelato and Coffee.

Ice Cream Prices are seperated into 3 different categories, Standard, classic & Premium.

LENAS. the hip and eponymous American Italian restaurant named after its passionate founder is the current place to be at with their vast menu, trendy decor, bustling atmosphere and daily promotions. Catering to everyone with their massive menu selections and affordable prices, it is a fantastic place to hold family gatherings. With a Wide Array of food items to choose from, It's hard to decide on 1.
Ice Mint Lemon Tea - $5.00 (Without Ice Cream)

Their Salad is generous with their cheese and greens. With the dressing on the side, you can choose to pour it over your salad or not.
Black Pepper Smoked Duck Salad - $10.90

Their Grilled Chicken Salad is one of the best I've had. The Tender pieces of chicken on the fresh and crispy bed of greens made it such a delight to enjoy. The Chicken was marinated to perfection, not too salty and not too bland even with the dressing over it.
Grilled Chicken Salad - $10.90

While Spagetti is not their Niche, It's passable and the seafood selected in this tomato base spagetti is fresh.
Mix Seafood Spagetti - $15.90

This dish, Seemingly looking like a Japanese Katsudon but the rice separated, is the 1 dish I would go back to LENAS for! Tender pieces of Breaded Dory Fish covered in a delicious Egg Sauce and kept warm with a small fire accompanied with the Fragrant Garlic Rice, it almost felt like I'm eating a Katsudon!
MUST TRY! Dory Fish in Egg Sauce - $15.80

Desserts are something not to be missed in my dining experience If my stomach space allows. LENAS's Ice Cream Parfait looks beautiful and taste as good as it looks too! Topped with Marshmallows and Fruits, bottom covered with Cornflakes and a little bit of Chocolate Sauce, delightful.
Remember to try their Breaded banana brownie hot pan with Vanilla Ice Cream as well. It was wiped out quicker than anyone could imagine.
Mix Berry Sundae - $8.80

Do head down to Lenas to try out the many varieties on their Menu! I'm sure it will make you crave for more! smile

Great for Chilling out after work Smile Oct 09, 2013

Big Bear is a Newly Opened Joint located opp the bustling Bugis Junction at Tan Quee Lan Street. Offering Western & Italian Dishes, as well as delicious snacks to go with the range of alcaholic beverages available.

The dish I would definitely Recommend would be their Bear Love Chips - $13.90, Which simply means Fish & Chips. The Fish is coated in a crunchy batter and the fish inside is tender and fresh. Pair it with the Special Orange Mustard Sauce, It is sure to be a Popular on the table.

Another Dish to highlight would be their Hawaiian Pork Chops - $16.90. Look at the size of that thing, You might think that It's too thick and will turn out tough, But NO, The juicy meat if fully infused with flavour and every bite is a pleasure. Pair it with the pineapple sauce to bring out more flavour. You won't Regret!

If you do not like meat that much, You can go for their Norwegian Salmon fillet served with a herb-butter gherkin sauce $17.90. It is a special sauce that I have tasted anywhere else with salmon fillet. Do inform the Waiter that you do not want the salmon to be over cooked! When the salmon is just nicely cooked, It is so tender and it breaks off easily with the slight push of my fork. The Butter gherkin sauce complemented the fish really well, strong but not too over-powering.

If you want something Light, Try the Big Bear Salad $10.90. With Italian Balsamic Dressing, Strips of Bacon, Crispy croutons and Fresh Vegetables, Topped with a Poached Egg and Bacon Bits. Refreshing Start to a meal or you can have it on its Own if you do not want to have too much for dinner. Enough sauce to go around the whole salad which I Personally love and the flowly Egg Yolk is just a BONUS!

If you crave for some Carbohydrate, Go for their Bacon Aglio Olio - $18.90. You are sure to be paying for what you are having at Big Bear's because they are so generous with their Ingredients that you wont feel short of anything but Full Enjoyment. Al dente Pasta with Lots of Garlic and ALOT of Bacon pieces that are not too huge but not too small. Just nice where you can taste it in your mouth but not making you feel oily.

Recommended Dessert is this Banana Sabayon - $13.90. A new twist in banana dessert covered in a unique egg sauce served with vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce. THIS HAS TO BE MAGICAL! How did a Egg Sauce complement the Fresh Banana So much? Eat it with or without the Vanilla Ice Cream, This dish will make you crave for a second!
