I was very happy that Yoshinoya at last open in Western area of Singapore.

I always order beef bowl at Yoshinoya. The beef tasted like what I had in Japan, though the prices in Singapore was about twice of what you pay in Japan.

The staff recommended me to add Tofu for 80 cents extra. I was very pleased with the staff recommendation. The braised tofu was silky smooth and melts in your mouth, no kidding.

Overall, the beef bowl with tofu tasted good but a bit pricy though at $8 for ala carte.

My friend recommended this restaurant. Though at Botanical Gardens, the restaurant was really out of way at the corner of the garden for a lunch. The restaurant dining area was really big. It looked like a canteen setting. With self served ice water if you do not want to order any drinks. Pork burger was not easy to find in Singapore, so when I saw the menu there was a pulled pork burger, I quickly ordered it. The taste of Pulled Pork Burger was surprising nice. It does not have the dryness of the cooked porked. It tasted somewhat liked the pork leg meat, smooth and tender.

When I was shopping at Forum, walk pass this chic cafe selling bakery items. The aroma attracted me to buy some biscuits to try. Almond biscuits. First look like a ginger bread. However when you bite it, it was not as hard as other biscuits. The taste was quite nutty, with many almonds and other nuts. This biscuit looked like old school Khong Guan sweet biscuits. When you bite it, you thought it was so sweet, but it was just a hint of sweetness with fluffy and crispy feel.

I saw the newspaper that this Yellow Submarine was opened by Mediacorp's 陈澍城. So when I was in Toa Payoh Hub, I was curious and went to have a try. I ordered the all time favourite on their menu, Yellow Submarine Classic Set at $9.90, with drinks and cheesy fries. The price was slightly high for a fastfood set meal.

The Cheesy Fries smelt of heavy cheddar cheese. The cheese sauce texture was ooey gooey, when I dipped the crispy French Fries into the cheese sauce, the taste was very yummy.

The beef baguette was also spam with the same cheese sauce. The filling inside seem like stir fried beef with onions. The combination of cheese sauce, beef and onions made me think of Vietnamese Bánh Mì. I liked the overall tasted, it was quite oriental. I think the beef baguette would be better if there was fresh green lettuce.

I did not realise Eggs & Berries sells Breakfast Set cheaper than several fastfood restaurants. Their breakfast set included a main, egg, salad with tea or coffee at $3.90, though for takeaway only, no dine-in option. 

I ordered the Grilled Chippolata Sausage set. The name of the sausage sounds unique, however I realised it was just normal grilled sausage. The grilled sausage was juicy and slightly peppery. The salad with sour cream tasted fresh and appetising. 

The poached egg tasted fantastic. There poached egg was coated with fragrant herb and buttery sauce, inside was flowing orange yolk. 

Overall, the Breakfast set was delicious and affordable, though the portion was slightly small, I could have eaten 2 sets of this breakfast to fill my stomach.
