Tokyo chix stew Cry Aug 27, 2013

This was the worst Soup Spoon meal I've ever had. I got the Tokyo Chicken Stew with the Chilled Soba with Teriyaki Chicken and an Iced Lemon Tea ($12.30). I really like the chicken stew from other outlets but not this one. The colour of the soup was much darker than others and it was much saltier. My chilled soba did not arrive for awhile so I enquired with the server. She went to check and I saw her bringing me the bowl from a customer's table. That was very unprofessional and I was petrified. I think she served it wrongly and found it on another table. I requested for a new one. The chilled soba was very strange. It consisted of raw baby dou miao which tasted like it came directly from the ground. It had crunchy sesame seeds though which was quite nice. Overall, this was the worst meal I've had at Soup Spoon. I will hesitate to visit their JEM branch next time.

Jajangmyeon Cry Jul 29, 2013

This is the Jajangmyeon from Woori-Nara. I find that the quality of the food here has really dropped over the years. Compared with the jajangmyeon from Kim's Family Food (which is just a couple of shops down this stretch of shophouses), this one was so much saltier. If the picture makes the dish look like worms and it seems unappetizing, trust me-- it is unappetizing. The noodles were already soggy when they came and there was very little ingredients in this dish. Don't order this from here!

oxtail soup Cry Jul 25, 2013   (Related Review)

I decided to try the Oxtail Soup ($5.50) as I was craving something soupy and warm. Since I love the oxtail soup at Ayam Penyet Ria, I figured that the taste of the soup from this stall should be about the same. I was fairly disappointed with the soup as it was really oily and not as flavourful as I'd expected. The 2 oxtail parts that were given were also lacking in meat. There are some potatoes and carrots but that was about it. This dish comes with rice. I do not recommend this dish.

Mee bakso Cry Jul 25, 2013   (Related Review)

This is the Mee Bakso ($3.50) from this Indonesian stall. The noodles are a mix of the thick yellow mee and bee hoon. This mee bakso is quite plain as it does not even have bean sprouts. It only has noodles and meatballs. The meatballs were a little tough and one look at the soup and you can tell that it was really oily. Trying this once is enough and I will stick with the rice dishes or gado-gado in future.

EWnagi Cry Jul 17, 2013

This meal was so disappointing on so many levels I can't even begin to describe it. Firstly, it is called Eel with Lettuce and Seaweed, but I could barely see any seaweed and I surely did not see a single piece of lettuce. The eel was thin and very stale. I could barely finish the whole thing! I regret spending $9.80 on this, it is definitely not worth it. Will definitely stick with the more conventional Hong Kong food that Wan Chai offers next time.
