The Best of The Best Springroll! Smile Jul 31, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Hawker Centre

This stall is the best of the best Springroll I ever had. Trust me, you have to try it out! Beside Springroll, they do offer Kueh Pie Tie, Laksa, Rice Flour Roll.

The lady whom was sharing a table with us was having their Laksa and it was so tempting! I gave it a passed but I still had their Springroll after being 3/4 full from the Dim Sum Affair.

It take skills to really get the Popiah skin intact with all the ingredients and you have to slice it right so that the filling will not get expose and this stall ace it well! What's so special is the peanut bite in it, it is really crunchy and it add to the fragrance.

Quality Dim Sum in Food Centre Smile Jul 31, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hawker Centre | Dim Sum

The first stall I spotted and I just knew I would hit on it.

I suppose this is the famous Chinatown Dim Sum Restaurant subsidiary.

I was quite surprise that given such limited space, they do serve a variety of Dim Sum.

I prefer the deep fry shrimp more than the rest. The rice flour roll is rather plain, other than that the Char Siew Pau, Har Kar and Siew Mai will please your Dim Sum craving.

Price wise, I would say a little too steep given that it is in a food centre - about $25.

If you are planning for weekend dim sum, Peach Garden is not bad of a choice as the price is affordable plus they have the UOB card promotion.

With UOB card, 5 pax is only $97.90 - there's $19.52 per pax!

Dim sum is serve the old fashion way here at Peach Garden:

On menu, the usual dim sum spread are offer here at Peach Garden:

It is not the best of best dim sum, but for the price you can't bargain for more.

Special on their menu are:

Vinegar pork stew with

The soup is quite pleasant!

Old school style ice cream with biscuit - once you hear the bell ring, that's dessert time at Peach Garden!

Overall, food is decent however the demand don't meet the supply - I didn't get to have my fruit because it is empty by the time I wanted mine.

Drinks for All Generation Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Hardly patronize bubble tea shop these days but was taken away by the choice of beverages available at Gong Cha! Gong Cha has a very comprehensive beverage list whereby there's drink for everyone of age.

I got the red date tea for my mum.

Sour plum for my husband.

Orea mix for my sis.

Chocolate choice for the chocolate lover.

Everyone is happy with our drink, the taste is solid - both the sour plum and red date are comparable with restaurant standard. Chocolate range too, please our addiction well.

Steep Price for Economy Rice OK Jul 31, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese

I was in the province and wanted to give it a try.

My husband was saying, Alishan is quite famous for its food. So were the price famous too!

I only have the chicken, fish, egg and vegetable and it was $20+ for 2.

Food wise, I must say it taste like true home cook food but I only have one complain though. The food is not serve hot, despite there's warmer to warm all the dishes.
