Korean BBQ Cry Mar 12, 2013
Categories : Korean | Buffet

Gone are the days where we are limited to only book a BBQ pit at the park or void deck in order to enjoy the joy & fun of BBQ gatherings. In the modern times, steamboat BBQ/Korean BBQ is available at many restaurants now, and Seoul Good Bulgogi Korean BBQ is one of them.

I came to know of this place because I bought an online deal- $11.90 for Korean BBQ + Free Flow of drinks. It's so value for money!

FOOD

My own 'BBQ pit'

There were not many variety of food. They are: Vegetables, Mushroom, Meat, Prawn, Sotong, Fish, Crabstick, Fishballs, and Egg. The basic ingredients for steamboat/BBQ
As for the drinks, there are only Lemon Bartley and Ice lemon tea. The lemon tea is quite diluted while the lemon barley is too sweet.
As for the BBQ pit, its 2 to 1 sharing.

AMBIENCE
Jus like any other air-conditioned cafe. It's quite unhygienic as there are a few housefly flying around the food.

SERVICE
They are not very polite. One of the staffs seems a little pissed when I took the wrong bowl/ plate to put my ingredients. They asked you to stop cooking/eating once the BBQ time is up. Very punctual to 'chase' us away.

LOCATION
Not very accessible. The nearest bus-stop is like 5 minutes away, and not many buses go there. The nearest MRT is about 10 to 12 minutes away. No shelter from the bus stop or MRT Stations. It's inconvenient to go there on a rainy day unless one drives. There is a carpark for people who drives though.

FOOD
Seafood Platter

Seafood Platter

My first time trying out its seadfood platter. The serving for seafood platter is quite big, and is ideally for two. It comes with butter prawns, crispy fish and chips, french fries, sotong, mussels and its fragrant rice. I like the prawn and the sotong such that they have some kind of BBQ taste which makes its taste great. The rice is also awesome when mix with some tar tar sauce or chilli sauce. The fish is also quite crispy, but best with spread with some ounce of lemon. The mussels, however, have some sort of "fishy" smell which make me lose my appetite for it.

AMBIENCE

The outlet is quite small and crowded. Quite a noisy place as well.

SERVICE

Their service is generally acceptable, but the food takes quite a long time to come.

Teriyaki Chicken Don

Teriyaki Chicken Don

This teriyaki chicken don comes with 5 pieces of fried chicken, small portion of chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg), slice of cabbage, and is topped off with their speciality teriyaki sauce and some slices of seaweed. I personally like the sweet-salty teriyaki sauce that tastes rather good when eaten together with the fried chicken. However, the chicken is not that crispy and tender. It could be better if it's more crispy.

Dumpling Noodle OK Dec 28, 2013

Dumpling Noodle

Dumpling Noodle

Qiu Lian Ban Mian is famous for its bouncy noodles and tasty bowl of soup. But I guess it has franchise everywhere such that the taste in different outlet is different. For this dumpling noodle at Kopitiam Square, the soup is abit bland, but the dumpling is rather big and tasty, where it has sufficient amount of jiu cai which makes it tasty. However, $5 for such a bowl of noodle is quite expensive.

FOOD
Morgan's Rib Sandwich - $19.90

Morgan's Rib Sandwich - $19.90

This is a very special hamburger. With hot chunk of pork ribs pulled off the bone, it's tossed in a special BBQ sauce and sandwiched in the warm buttered burger bun. Besides, it's topped off with a great amount of mayonnaise sauce, tomato and some lettuce. The combination is just awesome! The meat of the pork ribs is so tender and easy to bite. Oh yes, it has a side of pipping hot french fries as well.
Beer-Battered Fish Fillet - $14.90

Beer-Battered Fish Fillet - $14.90

This crispy deep fried fish fillet is seasoned with their beer batter, and comes with tar tat sauce. The taste of the beer batter is not that rich, so in overall, I feel that it's like any other fish & chips served outside, which is a little disappointing. This dish comes with french fries and salad too.

AMBIENCE
I like the ambience of this restaurant, as they don't have many patrons and makes it a comfortable and quiet environment for dining.

PRICE
The food here is quite pricey, as they serve high end western food. But they do have lunch promotions at times, which makes it much affordable.
