Dim Sum @ Compass Point Smile Dec 31, 2013

Being the first dim-sum restaurant in Compass Point, Canton Paradise has attracted many patrons since its opening.

FOOD
Prawn Dumplings

Prawn Dumplings

The prawn wrapped in the prawn dumpling is quite fresh. However, it taste quite normal overall.
Xiao Long Bao

Xiao Long Bao

The pork duplings, Xiao Long Bao tastes reasonably good, just that its skin is fragile and gets punctured easily when being lifted up on the spoon.
Crispy BBQ pork buns

Crispy BBQ pork buns

One of their must-try speciality, the pork BBQ bun is really awesome! A bun that is crispy on the outside, yet rich and tasty inside. The bun is wrapped with sweet and juicy BBQ char siew which taste so great when eaten together with its crispy crust.
Custard Bun

Custard Bun

My favourite custard bun! It's so juicy that the paste will ooze out once you take a bite. It has that great salted egg yolk taste that is totally indescribable. You simply can't resist to ask for more!
Prawn Glutinous Rice Roll

Prawn Glutinous Rice Roll

A twist to the traditional Chee Cheong Fun in soya sauce, it is wrapped in prawn instead of the normal Char Siew, but still taste good after all.

Some baked and fried dim sums - egg tarts and the fried yam puffs. Awesome!

AMBIENCE
It's really crowded during peak hour as it's the only chinese restaurant around. So it's wise to come early to queue up! Also, I like its purple and black decor which gives one a classy feel to dine in.

SERVICE
Their service staff are quite polite and observant. They would quickly refill your glass of tea once it's empty.

Claypot lunch Smile Dec 31, 2013

The New World, an alternative dinning place that is situated in NTU North Spine, offers a wide range of Malaysian delights.
Kong Bao Chicken

Kong Bao Chicken

After hesitating for quite some time, I decided to try out this Kong Bao Chicken. It's served in a claypot such that it can retain heat and one can savour the dish longer. It's served with chicken, dry red chilli, some vegetable and cooked in their speciality Kong Bao sauce that makes it delicious. The sauce is not too salty and taste really good. You can ask for an extra bowl of rice to go with it at only $0.50, or you can just savour it without any rice. Overall, its a thumbs-up! lol

Cheap Cafe @ NTU Smile Dec 31, 2013

Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Salads/ Acai Bowl

After umpteen recommendations and fabulous reviews from friends, I decided to have my dinner at Pitchstop, one of NTU's cheap and good cafe.

FOOD
Turkey Carbonara - $8.50

Turkey Carbonara - $8.50

I ordered their turkey carbonara for a try. It comes with turkey, mushrooms, ham, and most importantly, its creamy and chessy sauce! The carbonara sauce is well-adjusted such that the whole pasta does not have the too creamy kind of feel, and it's moist enough for one to savour it deliciously. Also, you can choose the type of pasta you want to be served.

AMBIENCE

It has both indoor and outdoor seats. But I love its alfresco dinning! A relaxing and beautiful place to chill out with friends after classes!

PRICE

The price is really cheap and does not have any GST or service charge. For a cafe and great food and cheap price, it's really a great hangout that I would recommend and I would definitely come back again!smile

Having retain a good impression from my last visit, Here I am, trying out their other delicious food again.
Lotus Chicken Chop Fried Rice - $8.80

Lotus Chicken Chop Fried Rice - $8.80

This time round, I opt for their fried rice. The fried rice is wrapped in a lotus leaf and placed in a wooden "box". The fragrance of the fried rice is totally overwhelming! Topped off with a few pieces of fried chicken, a slice of tomato and cucumber, the fried rice is just awesome! The fried chickens are hot and crispy, and it's best when eaten together with the fried rice. A perfect combination! Totally recommended and worth it! smile

FOOD
Papa Prawn Mee

Papa Prawn Mee

Served in their speciality prawn broth, this bowl of prawn noodles is served with with fresh prawns, hard-boiled egg, bean sprouts and water spinach. Their soup is really awesome! Definitely one of the best I've ever tasted. The alluring taste of the soup that lands on your taste buds just keep asking you for more!

AMBIENCE

As it was rather crowded indoors, I was offered a seat in their well-decorated outdoor section. It has a very relaxing feel, and makes you feel like sitting there for the rest of the day and just let the world go by.

PRICE
The price of their food items are quite reasonable and affordable, and their food menu are all malaysian delights.
