Dry Hor Fun

Unlike the usual soup-based hor fun, this is the dry version with bean sprouts and vegetables. It's quite tasty, just that it's a little too salty.

Coffee Spare Ribs

I love coffee spare ribs! The fragrance of the coffee is well immersed in the smooth and soft texture of the spare ribs... Not hard at all.

Steamed Cod Fish in soya sauce

Cod Fish remain one of my top favourite among other kinds of fishes. This dish tastes quite good as the portion of soya sauce is just right - not too salty

Beijing Roasted Duck

Avocado Cream with Sago in Coconut

A very special and unique desert that can hardly be found outside. In the coconut, they mix a vanilla ice-cream with avocado cream and topped it off with a few colourful sago. It's quite refreshing and doesn't taste sweet at all.

Pan Fried Red Bean Pancake

I love this red bean pancake as there are full of roasted sesame bits on top of it, and all smells so great! And when eaten together with the crispy pancake, the combination is just so great and awesome!

AMBIENCE
The ambience is quite good, a quiet and peaceful restaurant that you can sit down and have a good chat with your family or friends. However, it's not very spacious, and spaces between tables are quite cramped.

SERVICE
I love their service. The staffs are very friendly and jovial, and looks so enthusiastic to serve you well. Thumbs-up!

FOOD

Unagi Sushi

Big slice of Unagi, fresh and tasty!

Ubi Sushi

I love the crispiness of the ubi wrapped in a roll of tiny "egg" and sushi roll

Soft-Shell Crab

Very soft and crispy

Salmon Sashmi and Teriyaki Chicken

The salmon sashimi is quite fresh and a slice is quite big. As for the teriyaki chicken, it tastes quite normal, and a little salty.

Tako-yaki and Fried Toufu

Both taste quite normal and a little salty

Shabu Shabu

This is like a steamboat pot, and they will give you the ingredients like mushroom, vegetables, chicken/beef (based on choice), carrot, Toufu. You can even cook salmon sashimi if you are sick of eating it raw!

AMBIENCE

Nested in a quiet industrial area away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this restaurant offers a good place for dining in and catching-up and friends.

PRICE

$42.80++ for a wide range of sashimi, sushi, shabu shabu and other cooked jap food, it's really worth it!

Lunch @ Din Tai Fung OK Jul 06, 2013

Categories : Dim Sum

FOOD

Pork Dumplings

There is sufficient amount of "soup" in the dumpling that makes it mouth-watering! And the texture of the minced pork is so smooth soft. Awesome!

Shredded Pork Fried Rice

I've always love Din Tai Fung's fried rice. Always so fragrant and tasty. Shredded pork taste good and not too hard.

SERVICE

Their service is quite bad. When asked to refill our tea, they took such a long time and pull a long face! No display of professionalism at all!

PRICE
I think the price is quite affordable in a neighborhood shopping centre.

Teriyaki Chicken Don

Teriyaki Chicken Don

This teriyaki chicken don comes with 5 pieces of fried chicken, small portion of chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg), slice of cabbage, and is topped off with their speciality teriyaki sauce and some slices of seaweed. I personally like the sweet-salty teriyaki sauce that tastes rather good when eaten together with the fried chicken. However, the chicken is not that crispy and tender. It could be better if it's more crispy.

Christmas Feast Smile Dec 31, 2013

Categories : Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

Greeted by the colourful and attractive christmas lightings and decor, one is invited to bask in the jingling ambience once you stepped into the restaurant. Attracted by their X'mas day set menu, I decided to have my feast at Jack's place.

For a price of $20.80++, the set menu comprises of: Soup + Main Course + Desert + Coffee/Tea

Christmas's Day's Turkey Minestrone Soup.

It's a tomato-based soup with some chicken cubes as its ingredients. This soup may appeal to tomato lovers as it just taste like boiled tomato sauce.

Pan-Seared Pacific Dory Fillet Roulade with Prawns & Tomato Skewer served with Creamy Lemon Tarragon sauce

The main bulk of the lunch, this fish is quite tasty, and is a perfect combination when dipped with the lemon sauce. Awesome combination! smile

Christmas Chocolate Pistachio Log Cake

Last but not least, we have the log cake as the desert. It is basically a chocolate cake with a thin layer of pistachio cream. I love this cake particularly because it does not has many layers of cream which jeopardize those health-conscious from savouring it.

To end the christmas feast, each guest was presented with a door gift placed on the tables. How sweet! smile

As usual, the waiting time of the dish is quite long, about 15- 20 mins. And it's always very crowded during weekends/public holidays.
