Light Lunch Smile Jul 17, 2013

For a light lunch, I decided to munch on their Polo Buns and try their famous egg tarts.

Hong Kong Crispy Polo Bun

I like the crispiness and tastiness of the crust on top on the bun. It still taste good even when it's only butter in it. The bread is also quite soft and easy to bite on

Egg tarts

My favourite egg tart and probably one of the best I've ever eaten! The crust is so crispy and does not break easily. The egg is a bit watery, not too dry. Awesome!

Cold drink on a hot day Smile Jul 15, 2013

As a Gong Cha lover, I always like to try out their different kind of tea...

Gong Cha Milk Green Tea - $2.50

This is one of their speciality, green tea topped off with their special kind of cream milk. When you stirred it, it becomes milk green tea. I like the soury taste of the cream that really blends in well with the green tea that gives one a refreshing taste. Really perks your day up!

They also have tips on how one should enjoy the Gong Cha Milk Tea:

1) Sip the freshly brewed tea through the milk without a straw
2) Slurp some tea followed by the milk through the straw for a smooth aftertaste
3) Stir and enjoy a perfect blend of milky froth and aromatic tea

Yummy Fruit Tarts Smile Jul 15, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Brunch

So I bought their promotion voucher on DEAL.

I love their fruit tarts, probably one of the better ones I've ever tasted. The crust is really crispy, and even after leaving two or three days in the fridge, it's still so crispy. They also have 5 kind of fruits, namely: Kiwi, Strawberry, Mago, Dragonfruit and blueberry. How many fruit tarts outside can actually have so much of fruits in it? The custard is also not very sweet. When it's eaten together, it's heavenly! Really enjoyed the fruit tarts. If they have such promotion again, I'll definitely buy more!

Their service is also quite good, and happened to see that the shop was actually featured in the Sunday Times before. Looks like they have made a name for themselves!

J'aime la chocolate! Smile Mar 02, 2013

Categories : American | Café | Desserts and Cakes

To chill out on a weekday evening, I went to Max Brenner Chocolate bar - the perfect destination for awesome chocolate!

FOOD

I ordered the desert: Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice-cream, which send your mouth craving for another piece as the hot-cold combination compliment each other.

To get a taste of warm, thick, real dark chocolate, I finished up the desertix with a cup of hot chocolate. It seems like the whole piecedark chocolate just melts entirely in your mouth, great ending to the sweet fix!

SERVICE
The service staffs are quite jovial and friendly. However, the food gets slow when it's crowded. Waiting time was extended to 10 to 15 minutes
.
AMBIENCE
Nestled in Esplanade, it has a slow and relaxed pace as you sit in the cafe, and listen as your heart keep up to soothing beat of soft rock songs. A good escape from the busy office work!

FOOD
French Fries - $7

French Fries - $7

I love their cheesy french fries! It has the alluring melted cheesy taste that makes the fries such tasty. It's also quite crispy and it's placed in a metal tin such that the fries would not be cooled down easily and the fries can retain its hot and crispy feel!
Chessymara - $16

Chessymara - $16

One of their chef's recommendation, this cheesy pasta is actually aglio olio served with cheesy sausages and slices of bacon. And the whole combination is just awesome. The anlio iteself has the fragrance and spiciness, and with the combo of the cheesy sausages and bacon, it brings the taste up to a new level!

AMBIENCE
This cafe is quite a good place to hang out and chill out with friends. It's not that big but has two storey to it. The space between tables is quite small, and hence one can easily eavesdrop the other table when you have no real intention to it.

PRICE
The food items are quite affordable, and has no GST and service charge. As such, order must be made and paid at the counter. Free flow of drinks is provided but also self-service.
