Char Koay Teow Smile Dec 30, 2013
Categories : Malaysian | Food Court

One of the local favourites, Char Koay Teow, is found everywhere. But, finding one that taste better among the rest is a challenge. One of the best is over here at Sentosa. Fried with eggs, shrimps and a black soy sauce that’s savoury rather than sweet, this char koay teow brings the addiction right into your taste buds. It's just awesome! It has the right fragrance and taste and has sufficient amount of ingredients to make it appealing and filling. Thumbs up for it! smile

Chicken Rice Balls Cry Dec 30, 2013

Categories : Malaysian | Food Court | Chicken Rice

Attracted by the fragrance from a distance, decided to try out this stall.
Chicken Slices

Chicken Slices

The chicken meat is quite tender and the light soya sauce in added in sufficient amount such that the meat does not turn out to be too salty.
Chicken Rice Balls

Chicken Rice Balls

The rice balls, is quite disappointing. It does not have the rich chicken rice fragrance in it, and taste rather normal. I have to eat it with chili so that the rice does not taste so plain. Comparing to those authentic ones in Malacca, this is a ultimate failure.

Dumpling Noodle OK Dec 28, 2013

Dumpling Noodle

Dumpling Noodle

Qiu Lian Ban Mian is famous for its bouncy noodles and tasty bowl of soup. But I guess it has franchise everywhere such that the taste in different outlet is different. For this dumpling noodle at Kopitiam Square, the soup is abit bland, but the dumpling is rather big and tasty, where it has sufficient amount of jiu cai which makes it tasty. However, $5 for such a bowl of noodle is quite expensive.

FOOD

Zhao Pai Mi Xian - 12 items

This is their signature dish whereby you are served with a bowl of soup, noodle and the respective ingredients. You will then add those noodles and ingredients into the soup and wait for a few mins before savoring it. I particularly like the tantalizing taste of the soup, the 12 ingredients adds new spiking taste to the soup too.

The Ingredients: Yunan Rice Noodles, Quail eggs, Chives, Beancurd Thread, Dried Shrimps, Fried Meat, Spring Onion, Fish, Dou Miao, Sze Chuan Vegetables, Mushroom, Butter Mushroom and Ham.

AMBIENCE
This eatery is quite popular during peak hours, and is also quite noisy.

PRICE
This eatery is considered quite cheap, and value for money.

High Tea September Menu  Smile Dec 23, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Sichuan | Restaurant | Dim Sum | Seafood

I'm here again for the 9 course high tea (excluding the 3 different types of chinese tea served) at $20++ for the month of September.

Menu for September High Tea
Lotus root Roll with Osmanthus

Lotus root Roll with Osmanthus

This dim sum is quite special. It's actually lotus root wrapped in Osmanthus. Quite an unique taste.
Steamed Pea Shoot Dumpling with Crabstick

Steamed Pea Shoot Dumpling with Crabstick

A dumpling wrapped in some pea shoots. I still prefer the normal kind of dumpling wrapped in jiu cai, which is much tasty.
Steamed Crystal Dumpling with Osmanthus

Steamed Crystal Dumpling with Osmanthus

A crystal dumpling that is filled with Osmanthus. The sweetness of the Osmanthus does not compliment the skin of the crystal dumpling, which results in a weird taste.
Deep Fried Chicken Puff

Deep Fried Chicken Puff

This is the tiny version of a chicken puff. Not much ingredient, but rich in potato paste.
Noodle with Bamboo Shoot in Onion Oil

Noodle with Bamboo Shoot in Onion Oil

Their noodle always taste great when mixed with the chili oil, and the minced pork are well seasoned that it taste great when eaten together with the noodle.
Water Chestnut with Osmanthus

Water Chestnut with Osmanthus

Osmanthus taste good only when prepared in such way, especially with the presence of water chestnut
Sweet Potato Glutinous Rice Ball

Sweet Potato Glutinous Rice Ball

This is a bit disappointing, as it's quite tasteless.
Homemade Beancurd with Wolfberry

Homemade Beancurd with Wolfberry

Their signature desert. Smooth beancurd with wolfberry
Minced Meat Dumpling with Chilli Oil

Minced Meat Dumpling with Chilli Oil

It's my favourite of all in the high tea menu. The dumpling is dipped in chili oil and taste a bit sour which turn on your taste buds. It's served best together with the noodle earlier on.

Recommended Dish(es):  Smooth beancurd with wolfberry
