Char Siew Bao of Tanjong Rhu, sometimes known as the char siew bao from Kampung Arang. This is definitely (in my humble opinion), one of Singapore's best Char Siew Bao and it's a hidden gem, tucked away in an old housing estate in Singapore. During lunch time, there would be a queue for buying their Tim Sum, especially their Char Siew Bao !

Introducing Chin Sin Huan Eating House Tim Sum & Pau, more affectionately known as the Tanjong Rhu bao, I recalled my first trip years ago in 2001, when the coffee shop wasn't renovated, still pretty much in its authentic retro fittings and furnishings, I had a taste of their very famous Char Siew Bao and today, almost 10 years later, the standards have maintained and it is still as delicious, tasty and wonderful.

At the coffee shop, they have wanton mee, that I feel is not too bad. Personally, their tim sum especially their char siew bao is the best and something that I must definitely eat when I am there ! They also have chicken buns, lian rong bao, siew mai and lor mai gai.

When you are there, do give the other buns a try too, however, you must definitely try their Char Siew Bao ! It simply melts in your mouth ! Absolutely delicious, tasty, yummy ! The photos I took may not look nice, however, once you have a taste at them, you would be convinced by their Char Siew Bao !

This Char Siew Bao is a hidden gem and ranks among the better/best char siew bao in Singapore !

Do visit them & try it out ! Do go there earlier and buy the Char Siew Bao because it is very popular and it might be sold out !

Famous Oyster (Hidden Gem) Smile Nov 30, 2010

As the signboard says "Xin Xin Famous Fried Oyster", indeed, it's a hidden gem here. Situated in Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre, a stall that has been there for a long period of time.

My mum is a fan of this stall and I would buy her this delicious oyster omelette for supper and tucked into it myself too. Sometimes, if the stall has many orders waiting, you might have to wait for a while since the owner doesn't rush his oyster omelette cooking, ensuring his omelette is well cooked evenly. He would ensure once it's nicely cooked and ready before putting the oysters in for the final and quick finale cooking.

The omelette is thick and nice, not too oily considering that it is oyster omelette. Once you chew it in your mouth, the sensation of the omelette can be felt, delicious and tasty. The chili is a must and you pour it over the oyster omelette, it really brings in the taste of the oyster omelette.

As for the oysters, it's pretty good in numbers and sizes too, considering the price that we are paying for it ! This stall gets popular during dinner and evening hours, if you are at Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre, do go and try it out !

When Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre was closed for renovation and upgrading, some of the stall owners decided to move away or leave the business while there were some newcomers too.

Along came Mei Feng RoastedChicken Rice, with a pretty good reputation, having sticker labels on their stall glass windows, highlighting their presence in the web. Along with a steady line of customers queuing up to buy their roasted chicken, roasted pork and char siew meat, it reinforced their status and popularity on why they are 1 of the more popular stores at Clementi West Street 2 market.

Their roasted chicken is good, however, I personally prefer their roasted pork and char siew meat ! A nice side dish placed on their plates are not cucumbers, they are mixed vegetables and pickles, that really gives it a different and unique flavour to it !

Take a look at their Char Siew meat, sleek and tender, juicy and delicious, not oily too. Their gravy is superb and really tastes good on the rice ! The roasted pork is not too fatty and oily, roasted nicely and not overcooked, crunchy skin, juicy and delicious !

Coming from the bus stop direction, you can't miss this stall especially during lunch time & weekend lunch crowds too! Look no further, queue up for Mei Feng Roasted Chicken, Roasted Pork and Char Siew Meat, taste it and the delicious, tasty roasted meat would come to light and why it is a popular stall there at Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre!

This duck rice, roast pork and char siew meat stall had been in the Clementi West District for a number of years, located inside a kopitiam stall for a number of years, slowly gaining their customer base and followers around the housing estate and workers from the nearby industrial areas.

When the opportunity came for them to have their own place, taking over 2 shophouses and combining into a restaurant. From their sure hit roast duck and roast pork, they expanded their dishes selection to noodles, more soups and some zhi char dishes too at their current restaurant.

During lunch time, it can get pretty crowded with people from all walks of life, students to working adults. Their most popular dishes would be roast duck and roast pork, their gravy is nice and thick, fits in nicely to the rice and meat portions. Although they do have char siew, roast chicken, sausages, the roast duck and roast pork still stands out. They have a variety of soups too and it's not too bad too, you might want to consider trying them !

They have a number of helpers since they have quite a lot of customers at times during the peak hours, thus their service is quite good and fast. If you plan to come during lunch time, do prepare for the crowds ! Hope u enjoy the different variety of dishes there !

A food stall that been in the Clementi West Street district for a number of years, Western Food is a store that has a number of supporters and customers, with their wide range of western food dishes, quantity and taste.

They would have their chicken cutlet, chicken chop, pork, beef steak, fish & chips, chicken wings etc etc and also fried rice combination with chicken cutlet or chicken chop. Over the years eating at their stall, I would usually have chicken cutlet, chicken chop or fried rice combination with chicken cutlet or chicken chop.

Their portion is quite good, nice amount of french fries, coleslaw, bun and baked beans. For the chicken cutlet and chicken chop that I am familiar with, it won't be overcooked and for the chicken chop, not fried too deeply in the oil thus not too oily. As for the chicken cutlet, the gravy is nice and compliments it well with the fried rice (if you choose the fried rice combination instead of the chicken chop set).

Nevertheless, do try their other western set meals too, their pork and beef sets are pretty good too! They don't open till that late at night and sometimes when I come back pretty late in the night, no more western food for me.

Having stay in Clementi West area for 3 decades, I eat at my hawker centre very often and this is 1 of the stalls that I would eat quite often, value for money & tasty western food !

Do drop by and taste their western food !
