Sometimes I get homesick and miss Indonesian food so much. One of alternative places to go everytime this homesick strikes is Ayam Penyet Ria. It's quite tricky to find a really good and authentic Indonesian ayam penyet in Singapore. Ayam Penyet Ria is not a new thing for me, since this restaurant is already well-known in Indonesia.Coca Cola - $2.05. Canned Coca Cola served with ice cubes. No need description for this I guess.Ice Milo - $2.05. Basically Milo can be either hit or miss. Here, they served hot Milo with ice cubes! I was so disappointed to see the ice cubes melted really quickly. It became diluted and tasteless.Ayam Penyet + Rice - $7.40. This set menu came with smashed chicken thigh, fried tempe (soybean cake), fried beancurd, and sambal. The chicken was tender, juicy, and crispy. The tempe and beancurd were tasty as well. The sambal was burning hot! As an aftermath, I got stomachache the next day.

Overall, Ayam Penyet Ria serves good ayam penyet at affordable price. Will return again when I'm craving for ayam penyet hehe.

Went for lunch at Ajisen after school because they got special price for student.Chicken Teriyaki Sauce Ramen Set (Student Promo) - $10.90. This set menu consists of ramen (of your choice), side dish, and drink. I love their ramen, it was springy and soft. The broth was flavorful, although I felt like too much soy sauce was put. The chicken teriyaki was juicy and well-marinated. The california roll was standard issue, but pretty okay for side dish.

Overall, this set menu was quite value for money, although the variety of ramen (for the student meal) was limited (around 6 options only).

This prata place is very accessible from my school (just a short bus ride away). It opens 24/7, so if you have sudden craving of roti prata at midnight, you know where to go.Egg Cheese Prata - $2.50 (above) and Butter Prata - $2.80 (bottom). Typical crispy roti prata with butter, egg and cheese. The egg cheese prata was super delish, just imagine egg and cheese are blended together and melt in your mouth. Mmmmph...Ice Cream Prata - $4. Not your ordinary prata! The Roti Prata House tried to bring prata to the next level by serving it with ice cream. Crispy prata served with vanilla chocolate chips ice cream, topped with dollop of whipped cream, drizzled with strawberry and chocolate syrup - what could you ask for more? You may not see the ice cream in the pic above, since the ice cream is actually rolled inside the prata. Suitable for sweet-sucker like me.

Do take note that during the times when the crowd traffic is high, the service can be very slow and disorganized (even calling the waiter for service can be a serious issue). Thankfully, when I was there, the service was fine. As I sat down, the waiter came right away to give the menu. It also didn't take long for my order to be served - in around 5 minutes my prata had arrived on my table.

I was craving for ice cream that day. Any kind, any brand of ice cream. Right upon seeing Haagen-Dazs outlet at Esplanade, I went there to satisfy my craving.Cookies & Cream - $5.90. Don't ask me how Haagen-Dazs ice cream tastes like. Every spoonful was just sinful! My cookies & cream was so rich in vanilla flavor. It wasn't a wrong choice. Probably the best cookies & cream ice cream so far.Green Tea - $5.90 (+ cookie crumbs topping for $1). It was very yummy as well. Green tea and cookies worked well, making it a guiltlessly perfect combination.

Craving satisfied! What a heavenly treat I had...

Ordering coffee in Haagen-Dazs instead of ice cream...Iced Caffe Latte - $5.50. Single shot of espresso with fresh milk. Came in a quite huge glass. It was a bit weird that they didn't serve liquid sugar along with this (you can get it upon request, I suppose). I like the appearance, the color gradation looks nice yaa. It tasted really bitter at first, but when I kept stiring it, eventually it became sweeter.
