Bustling crowds and the humid environment will never deter from having a bowl of Da Lian noodles whenever I feel like having one.
During peak hours, the waiting time can be a little horrendous, even though there maybe up to 4 staffs in operation, including the owner himself. That's how well business is.

Portion is fit for those who usually stomach upsized meals.I can barely finish a $3 even though I'm quite a pig.

Nothing to shout about the soup. Seaweed, preserved vegetable, and minced meat bits, though they are rather generous with the seaweed, it usually comes covering the entire soup bowl. Taste is rather bland if not for the preserved vegetable.

The plus point to this stall would be their dry chili, containing dried shrimps. Fantastic! It's not too dry, salty and oily, it's rather spicy too! Though their noodles may not be as springy as Ah Guan's down the road, their chili and portion makes up for it. Their mushrooms are well marinated and are rather generous with their meat too.

Service staff are well mannered and will cater to your specifications on how you want your noodles to be.

Spending per head: Approximately $3

All thanks to coordinator inSing and the warm hosts from Fatboy for the event =)

The Spicy Hot Wings are one of a kind. Seems to be fried together with chilli flakes, innovative! It neither tastes too spicy nor too dry. Chicken itself is rather tender and easy to stomache.

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks are the best sticks I have ever had so far. Thick, solid and not overflowing with cheese!

The Fried Calamari is so-o-o-O big! If you ever ate those at random cafes or restaurants, it will be comparing a 1c coin to a 50c coin. This is darn worthwhile!

Bolly Wooly was the highlight of the day! The Honey Oat Bread is one bread that is distinctive in taste and style. It holds itself with a slightly caramelised dressing at the bottom of the crown and at the bottom, the curry sauce blends in really really well with the beef patty! Patty itself is not dry and it's tenderlicious!

No joke, you have got to try them out!

Good food is good food and these are the reasons why :

-Generous portion for price
-Listens to requests attentively ( 1 lady ordered 3 packets of carrot cake 1 white with extra chilli, 1 black with chilli, 1 black with no spring onions and 2 packs of fried oyster omelettes 1 with less oysters while the other was normal )
Not too sure if they were all correct but the lady who ordered seemed like a regular customer as they chatted for brief moments
-Tasty yet subtle
-Well fried
-Piping hot

What else is there to ask for?

The thing I love about this stall is the price. At 40 cents a piece, it's quite a real steal compared to the ones available outside. There are many varieties available, vegetables, fried items and the usual fish balls, tofu, beancurds. Their fried yam is not to be missed!
Do not be fooled by the outlook of their chilli sauce. It is just slightly spicy, if you can take chilli sauce, this is nothing to you. Fresh ingredients at such affordable prices for students, no wonder a queue is always present!

Drumlets Smile Oct 20, 2011

Fancy some chicken drumlets at this burger joint? The spicy mexican drumlets will not let you down. Though oily, the fragrance of the drumlets and the tenderness of the chicken meat outweighs the sins. I personally think that this dish goes well with some barbeque sauce which adds on the the fiesty chicken's flavour
