I was here for the first time. I have been misisng the taiwanese foods quite badly so decided to try some of their singatures. One of those that we ordered is Luo Ruo Fan. It consists of braised minced meat, braiseed egg and some vegetable. This dish is a disppointment. It did not taste like the real thing that i had in taiwan. They should have used pork belly rather than minced meat in making this dish. I would not try again.

Triple Three  (Orchard)

Triple Three at Mandarin Orchard is famous for its buffet. I bought the vouchers from Groupon to try the buffet. I came with an expectation but this expectation did not meet by the standard of the buffet spread. Everything from the starters to desserts are quite limited. For someone that got a sweet tooth, their desserts are so disappointing. After tried most of the foods, there is nothing worth to recommend. I do not think i am coming back.

If you are not very hungry then it is better to skip it. This is a very ordinary bowl of bak chor mee. You do not get your usual mushroom but minced meat, meat balls and a fried wanton. The taste is just average. The noodle was slightly overcooked so softer than normal. Nothing special with the sauce so quite disappointing.

It was a late afternoon and i was looking for something to eat, unfortunately, most of the stalls operating in the morning has closed and the evening stalls are not open yet. From the few stalls that are open, i decided to give the Wang Wang Claypot Bak Kut Teh stall a try. I ordered the braised pork trotter with rice. The braised pork trotter was not too tasty and the sauce was a bit bland.

I have been eating Lim Chee Guan bak kwa for so many years. I use to queue up for a few hours during the new year period to buy the bak kwa from the Lim Chee Guan stall in Chinatown. I will normally buy the small pieces bak kwa and they can be eaten easily. I am sad to report that the standard for the bak kwa has dropped, the bak kwa now tasted somewhat hard and tough not like it used too.
