Roasta Rawks Smile Apr 26, 2011

I must try this acclaimed juicy sensation and it's as good as KFC has advertised for it. Love the cute mini over packaging for this burger. Something new. Like a hybrid of Kenny Rogers and KFC Zinger. Well, I guess going forward, I will be getting Roasta whenever I visit KFC. The large chuck of chicken meat is tender and flavoured nicely. It does not gives an oily or gives me a feeling like I'm eating fattening stuff.

Marvellous spread of food! Was spoilt for choices!! Vienna International Seafood & Teppanyaki Restaurant certainly lived up to their name. They offer a whole range of local favourites & authentic soups, Japanese and Western cuisine, Teppanyaki and also our mouthwatering appetizers and desserts! There’s black chicken herbal soup, crocodile soup, sushi, sashimi, lobster, clamfish and loads of other delights. It’s so crowded; I had to sit outside despite calling in for reservations about 12pm for an evening dinner appointment. Inside is cooler albeit is noisy. They should enlarge the restaurant area to accommodate more indoor seats.

Average Only OK Apr 25, 2011

Service here is a tad better than the branch at Clementi newly opened mall. Tried the minced pork noodles (Bak Chor Mee). Noodles are springy but honestly I find the dish just average only. BTW they managed to maintain the same average standard also at the Clementi branch. The tangy vinegar based sauce is not seducing enough. And they are too stingy with the veg. Noticed a trend among restaurants nowadays. Too little veg. What's up. Are veg so expensive? Wonder how much will they charge me extra if I request for more veg. Heard that the handmade fish dumplings is good. Shall try it next time round.

Uniquely Wuhan Smile Apr 25, 2011

My first time here with a friend whom hometown was in Wuhan. She was raving about the sesame paste Wuhan noodles that I must try! Unfortunately they were not serving this special noodles on the day of my visit. So we ended up with another unique dish. Steamed pork ribs. The ribs were seasoned really oddly. It is an acquired taste I must say. At first, I thought that the ribs had a super strong garlic taste but then it became of or a fermented tofu taste instead (you know those type which you eat with congee? Not those light yellow kind. I'm talking about the slightly reddish sort). The after taste is rich and flavoursome. Ribs were cooked till they were so tender the meat simply melts in my mouth. I will be back for this ribs and not to mention, the sesame paste Wu Han noodles!

Thirst Quencher Smile Apr 25, 2011

Bought the chestnut drink here after lunch and the brew was light, pleasing to the palatte. It's extremely good for relieving cough. Very refreshing. Weird thing is there isn't any crunchy bites of chestnuts inside. Probably they have filtered it away already but I think having these crunchy bits will add texture to the drink. In any case, visit Oriental Herbal Tea for more Chinese special brews to relieve small ailments, quench thirst or to beat the irritable hot weather.
