White Restaurant is modern cze char restaurant located in Sembawang, serving delicious white bee hoon. You can easily spot long queue snaking round the restaurants during weekend and dinner hours. The wait is well worth for the white bee hoon was really delicious.

You can easily spot the restaurants as it is located opposite sembawang shopping center. Recently, it has gone through some renovation, providing diners with more comfort which indulging in their delights.

It has been come spacious and brighter.

Sembawang White Bee Hoon has set foot at Sembawang in 2010, serving moist and slimy seafood white bee hoon. The bee hoon stirred fried with egg, was really fragrant. This simple looking dish consisting of white bee hoon, sotong, prawns and vegetables has won many of the diners’ hearts and tummy.

Meat & Seafood Roll (虾枣) is another recommended and popular dish that almost every table has a plate of this on their table. Minced meat and prawn was wrapped with beancurd skin and deep skin. Love how the roll was so fresh and meaty (a lot of filling).

Meat & Seafood Roll (虾枣) , Small - $10

Indo-Style Fried Chicken Wing was really crispy and the meat was tender. However, the taste and smell of turmeric was too strong for my liking.

Indo-Style Fried
Chicken Wing印尼式炸鸡中翅 , Small - $8

Other than the mentioneddishes, they are also known for the sambal la-la and cereal prawn. We will make an effort to try these on our next visit.

Chin Mee Chin Confectionery, an old school coffeeshop located at 204 East Coast Road, has draws crowd of people to come and enjoy traditional breakfast. It is popular for its kaya toast.

We may be very used to going to hipster cafes, why not take a break to enjoy some nostalgia at this old school place. Sipping kopi /tea while enjoying nostalgic atmosphere brings you a trip down memory lane to see coffee shop in the past looks like and feel like.

Beside the traditional toast, there are also cakes, donuts and tarts being sold. They may not be fanciful looking, but they definitely one of those that are “old-school”. These cakes, donuts and tarts are being placed in the shelves where you can help yourself to your plate and pay at the counter.

It has been years since the last time I eat a sugar coated donuts. I’m amazed with how soft the donut was and what a perfect match the sugar was with the donut. It was most of the most fast selling item in the shelves as in less than an hour stay there; the whole tray of donut was completely wiped out. Patrons even started asking if there is more.

Donut ($1.20)

Unlike the usual toast, Chin Mee Chin uses fluffy buns instead of slices of bread. This fluffy buns were toasted, thus the buns were crispy on the outer, soft and fluffy in the inner. Generous serving of kaya were spread on the buns with a slice of butter given to be shared between two halves.

One bun (two halves) for $1

The taste of the cream puff surprised me. I was expecting the butter cream puff to be sweet but to my surprise, it was slightly salty. They also offer the chocolate version of the cream puff where a layer of chocolate ganache was apply to the cream puff.

The custard tart was quite decent as the custard was not overly sweet and the tart was crisp, lightly sweet, and buttery.

As for the chocolate muffin, I find it too dry and chocolate ganache was limited.

Cream Puff, Chocolate Cream Puff, Custard Tart, Chocolate Muffin ($1 each)

Really love the coffee as it was thick and the natural fragrant of milk from the condensed milk further value-add the taste, making it really smooth and addictive.

Chin Mee Chin Confectionery may not be the best place to visit for its cakes and tart, but I believe the high quality thick coffee and soft, fluffy kaya butter buns worth definitely satisfied you. What’s more, a nostalgias environment for a walk downs the memory lane.

World-renowned celebrity chef Cat Cora has finally opened her seventh and first restaurant in Asia at Resorts World Sentosa. Located inside the S.E.A. Aquarium, Ocean Restuarants by Cat Cora provide diners the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view of the Open Ocean
habitat whilst enjoying a truly memorable dining experience. It is definitely a place to visit once in your life time.

It was the first time bf helps me celebrate birthday after we got together. As such, he wanted to give me a memorable birthday celebration. After research, he decided on this and surprises me with the magnificent view of the restaurant.

It’s my first fine dining experience so I was rather excited and awe by the fine
display of the cutlery.

For dinner dining, each diner needs to meet a minimum spending of $68. As such, we have a hard time choosing what we want for dinner since we do not want to create a big hole in the pocket by over-ordering.

Do bear in mind that the food tends to be served very slowly so that you can enjoy the
atmosphere. So take the chance to enjoy the view like what we did.

After much thought, we decided on Chilled Watermelon & Tomato Gazpacho ($24), 42°C Sous Vide Salmon ($28), Rougie Duck Breast ($55), Banana Negative ($18) and Green & Red ($24).

Amuse Bouche: a small complimentary appetizer offered by the restaurant

42°C Sous Vide Salmon ($28)

Banana Negative ($18)

Green & Red ($24)

My complimentary mango birthday cake.

All in all, I really enjoy the magnificent view and great service in ocean restaurants. The food tends to be pricey. So it would worth your visit for special occasion. It’s a place to visit at least once in your lifetime. I guess it would take us a while to recover from hole in our
pocket.

Located along the same street with many cafes, Churn Creamery was the newest addition to the busy Tanjong pagar ‘café’ street. It took over Restore Living Café at 124 Tanjong Pagar, selling decent gelato ice cream with molten chocolate cone.

The café has a white, simple and “rustic” theme for diners to enjoy. There is also alfresco dining area for diners to enjoy on breezy day or during peak period.

One interesting flavor was the mystery flavour where diner can have the chance to guess the flavor and win a free scoop of it. Mystery flavour will change monthly, so you can pop by monthly to challenge your taste bud.

Like any other ice cream palour, it does serve many decent ice-creams. The staff was really friendly to serve us by introducing to us their best sellers and interesting flavor.

One thing to note, there is a unique chocolate tap located in the café to fill the cone.

The price of the ice cream is reasonable as the servings are generous. After thoughtful selection, we selected the double scoop (Valrhona Manjari & English Breakfast) . In addition, we also add their famous molten chocolate cone.

Double Scoop ($7.80) - Valrhona Manjari & English Breakfast

Valrhona Manjari: 64% cocoa was being used. This helps to create a hint of bitterness prevents it from being overly sweet and “jelat”.

English Breakfast: It was mixed with caramel. The natural tea and caramel taste helps to create an refreshing flavor. However, this flavour tends to be slightly sweeter.

Molten chocolate cone ($1): The cone crispy and filled with generous amount of chocolate lava.

Apart from ice cream, they also serve cakes, waffles, brownie and sticky date cakes. ChocolateBrownieã Churn Creamery

Churn Creamery was located right beside Mac-nels and directly behind the bus stop. For a decent hangout place and decent dessert, why not popped by and have a try. Whats’ more – challenge your taste bud with mystery flavour.
