Modern Swiss Rolls Smile May 02, 2016

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2016/04/the-plain-jane-serangoon-singapore.html

Featuring the not so plain (and probably not so cheap) swiss rolls such as Earl Grey and Thai Milk Tea [$5.90 each]. The flavours were delicate yet instinctive and I love the texture of the rolls – soft, dense and compliments the cream within. Whereas, Matcha swiss roll turned out milky when I preferred mine slightly bitter or sweet hence this is not to my liking as compared to the other two. This would satisfy you milky matcha lovers though!

The rolls can be paired with a list of tea blend, and I got the Lychee Konnyaku. A great drink for palette cleansing if you are having more than one rolls and it’s also a great excuse to chill out in the cosy atmosphere.

Located just a few minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station, exit A. The banners and wordings are so big, you can't miss them. It's a rather small area and limited seating capacity, so be prepared to queue on crowded nights.
Value for money set meal at S$13.90 and it comes with 2 choices of side dishes, one soup and rice. Up to 8 side dishes, 2 soup choices and quantity of rice to choose from.
Free flow of pickles and beansprouts too! There are 3 types of gyoza to choose from and I personally prefer the prawn fillings ones.

One of the Best Shibuya Toast Smile Jan 27, 2016

I could not not post and rave about how good their toast is. A three inch toast topped with a dollop of whipped cream, two scoops of hand-crafted ice cream and finish with drizzles of delectable sauce. There are a total of six flavours to choose from, we had the Gula Melaka Coconut [$14.90] - coconut ice cream, grated coconut flakes and gula melaka syrup.

The hand-crafted coconut ice cream is one of the most impressive flavour, comparable to Chatuchak Market's signature coconut ice cream in Thailand. Now for the best part, the toast. If you have tried and like After You's Shibuya Toast in Bangkok, you have got to try Dessert Project's! Soft, fluffy and buttery, a great alternative and it won't disappoint. The toast is good for sharing.Because we shared the toast among the four of us, we ordered a waffle to go along.

I went Vanilla Bar & Café mainly for their desserts and of course their signature dessert, Vanilla Dirt Cake - $9.50. Frozen vanilla ice cream with oreo crumbs on top with two gummy worms. A tad disappointment in their desserts as I expected better taste for the price I pay.

Plus points for the café is the lovely and warm interior and friendly staff.
They served all day breakfast as well, worth a try.

Sweet and Light Crab Broth Smile May 02, 2016

Guide to Keisuke Ramen: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2016/05/guide-to-ramen-keisuke-singapore.html

Kani King is one of my favourite among Keisuke Ramen, and it was sprung out soon after the prosperous launched of Lobster King. Similarly to Lobster King, it also features different types of crab broth – Crab Broth Ramen with Clear Soup, Crab Broth Ramen with Rich Soup, Spicy Crab Broth Ramen, and two brand new dishes such as Crab Broth with Mixed Fried Omelette Ramen and Crab Tsukemen.

Crab Broth with Mixed Fried Omelette Ramen is quite an interesting hype to a bowl of ramen, which is topped with a layer of soft and fluffy egg filled with crab stick and vegetables - which I think suits the local palate. My other favourite has to be Crab Tsukemen (dipping noodles), purely because I love tsukemen and this hits the right spot for a tsukemen lover.

Based on individual preferences, after comparing to lobster broth, my taste buds leans slightly towards the crab broth more as it is sweeter and lighter in flavour.
