Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/09/kushinbo-suntec-city-promenade-singapore.html

Kuishin Bo returns back to its nesting ground, Suntec City. Now situated in the new North Wing of Suntec City, they brings you a brand new interior and deco with more lively colours yet cosy and welcoming setting. There's even a Kids Haven corner, only exclusive to Suntec City outlet.

The buffet spread consist of 100 over timeless favourites across 7 sections: Salad and Appetisers, Sushi, Sashimi, Seafood, Teppanyaki, Paper Hot Pot, Fried Food, Soups and Desserts.
Besides their regular buffet range, Kuishin Bo is introducing quarterly thematic food fairs featuring gourmet highlights from various regions in Japan, where you will be able to feast in over 20 seasonal items. From 6 July - 27 September 2015, you can savour items from Kyushu and Okinawa.

I would recommend going for dinner instead, so you'll get to enjoy free flow of snow crabs, and not forgetting the iconic ‘dong dong dong’ bell which indicate the hourly specials with limited quantities.

Golden Jubilee Menu  OK Aug 21, 2015

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/08/street-50-bay-hotel-harbourfront_20.html

Situated on street level of the Bay Hotel. In celebreation of SG50, Street 50 came up with a Golden Jubilee a ala carte Menu. Love that their prices are fixed at such a reasonable rates!

If you are into salad, I would recommend Snow Crab Salad [$9.90] - a very refreshing and appetising salad, with fresh snow crab tossed in seaweed salad with pickles, wasabi, shoyu pearls and salmon caviar and lastly seasoned with herbs.
Next on the list to try is Satay Un-Skewered [$19.90] - lamb chop marinated with satay sauce with Malay rice cake and pineapple salad. It's so tender that you can tear apart the meat with no effort.
Lastly, Bubur Cha Cha Crème Brulee [$9.90] - a wonderful combination of the two, one mouthful of it and I'm sold! The flavours just fills your mouth.

Higher End Local Delights OK Aug 21, 2015

Categories : Café

1933 is a new F&B concept from The BreadTalk Group and diners can look forward to hearty soups served in bread bowls to all-time favourites like Hainanese Chicken Rice.

A salad worth trying is the Sawadee Greens [$14.90], a Thai-styled seafood salad with that punch of zest to the plain old salad. However, it comes with a steeper price for a simple salad.

Priced at the same amount is the Nanyang Curry Chicken In Bread Bowl [$14.90]. Curry chicken is my weak spot and that explains why I'm head over heels with this! This could get messy but it is not stopping me to enjoy this aromatic and flavourful coconut-based curry in a crusty and soft bread bowl, the curry kampong chicken is a cosy and warming indulgence.

A interesting take on pandan cake, Gula Melaka Pandan Cake [$8.90]. This yummy goodness is baked with bits of palm sugar for that extra Nyonya flavour and served with delightful gula melaka syrup. If only they could be more generous with the gula melaka.

Japanese home-cooked food OK Jul 18, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Bars/Lounges | Café | Sushi/Sashimi

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/07/ippin-cafe-bar-mohamed-sultan-clarke.html

Ippin Cafe Bar is Singapore’s first home concept Japanese cafe bar located along Mohamed Sultan Road. Their concept is to showcase a cosy home setting, allowing others to come by to enjoy the tranquil. It may be known as a hidden gem or one’s usual hangout for the comfort food, and not forgetting a drink to unwind from the hectic work life.

They offer set meals like Oyakudon Set [$15] - Chicken and egg on rice (served slightly 'wetter'), hence those who prefer it dry, this may not be for you. The secret of oishii is dashi (stock), the chicken is boiled with dashi, that explains why it is so juciy! The set is served with Hatcho miso soup, salad and houjicha (roasted green tea) pudding. Definitely my go to for comfort food during rainy weather.

For oysters lover, there is also a Deep Fried Oyster Set [$24]. These oysters are raised in clean ocean so be ready for a clean taste, yay to no more fishy taste! The oysters are lightly battered to golden brown, where it is crispy on the outside and still moist and tender on the inside. The set is served with rice (with barley), Hatcho miso soup, Nikujaga pork and potato stew, salad and houjicha (roasted green tea) pudding.

To go along with the meals, try the Marumo Mori Genmaicha The One tea (Genmaicha, Sencha, Houjicha). My favourite is Houjicha! Of cause, premium sake are also available.

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/04/fyr-cycene-ond-drinc-boon-tat-street.html

FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (pronounced as FIRE Kitchen and Drink) is a modern European-styled cuisine in a casual dining restaurant located along central business district, Boon Tat Street. Expect exotic herbs and spices of South-East Asia can be found in every dish, intensifying the taste and enliven the dishes. The dishes are whipped up using the Josper Charcoal Oven.

Start with FYR's special concoctions, it's simply refreshing and fizzy. I think it's suitable for cleansing the palate after each heavy-flavoured dish. For the mains, I personally love the Seafood Linguine [$18], tossed with al dente pasta is a potpourri of seafood ingredients as well as lobster bisque, laksa leaves and Thai basil, they are pretty generous with the seafood. Whole Maine Lobster [$35] is also worth a try, the lobster is topped with shallot lemongrass bechamel, the sauce can be subjective, I think the lobster itself is good enough, fresh and juicy.

For the meat dishes whist, I think there can be room for improvements and the sharing platter is slightly on the steep side.

Last but not least, ending the meal with a sweet note is a must! Therefore you must try the Baked Pistachio Melt and Pandan Ice Cream [$10], this dessert is like a party in my palate. Though wish there is a stronger pistachio taste in the lava and the pandan ice cream blew my mind, no wonder it needs 24hours to prepare it. While stock last daily.
