Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/04/fyr-cycene-ond-drinc-boon-tat-street.html

FYR Cycene Ond Drinc (pronounced as FIRE Kitchen and Drink) is a modern European-styled cuisine in a casual dining restaurant located along central business district, Boon Tat Street. Expect exotic herbs and spices of South-East Asia can be found in every dish, intensifying the taste and enliven the dishes. The dishes are whipped up using the Josper Charcoal Oven.

Start with FYR's special concoctions, it's simply refreshing and fizzy. I think it's suitable for cleansing the palate after each heavy-flavoured dish. For the mains, I personally love the Seafood Linguine [$18], tossed with al dente pasta is a potpourri of seafood ingredients as well as lobster bisque, laksa leaves and Thai basil, they are pretty generous with the seafood. Whole Maine Lobster [$35] is also worth a try, the lobster is topped with shallot lemongrass bechamel, the sauce can be subjective, I think the lobster itself is good enough, fresh and juicy.

For the meat dishes whist, I think there can be room for improvements and the sharing platter is slightly on the steep side.

Last but not least, ending the meal with a sweet note is a must! Therefore you must try the Baked Pistachio Melt and Pandan Ice Cream [$10], this dessert is like a party in my palate. Though wish there is a stronger pistachio taste in the lava and the pandan ice cream blew my mind, no wonder it needs 24hours to prepare it. While stock last daily.

Traditional Peranakan dishes OK Apr 27, 2015

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/04/house-of-peranakan-petit-eng-hoon.html

The latest dining addition to Tiong Bahru is House of Peranakan Petit, an intimate 30-seater restaurant in a modern Peranakan setting, along Eng Hoon Street - a former Peranakan district. The dishes served is inspired by the owner, Bob's mother’s culinary skills.

Beef Rendang [$18] - pieces of beef broiled in traditional spices and coconut milk. The beef chunks were tender and soft with is full flavoured from the spices. Definitely one of my favourite during the tasting that night. Also, Itek Sioh [$18] - braised duck in an appetising gravy of coriander and tamarind. A very interesting dish, the duck meat so tender and juicy and every bite is just so divine. The sauce just bring me back to my roots, so flavourful and tasty.

Dessert time! Not to be missed would be the Gula Melaka Sago Pudding with Coconut Ice Cream [$6.50] - pearl sago pudding drenched in gula melaka (palm sugar) and topped with creamy coconut ice cream. It's so soothing in the palate, I wouldn't mind having a second serving all to myself.

Full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/04/eggs-berries-westgate-jurong-singapore.html

Eggs & Berries unveils new mainstays featuring healthier choices (with no added MSG and expect only natural flavourings) and has also expanded their pasta selection for greater indulgence.

There is some hit and misses with the new menu but one of my favourite all-day-breakfast dish is Eggs Florentine [$13.90], since eggs are the restaurant’s speciality you can hardly go wrong.

Do check out their expanded pasta dishes too! I personally thinks Frutti di Mare (seafood pasta) is not bad at all. Not forgetting their sweets such as Passion Fruit and Banana Soufflé, in my opionion is one of their better dessert thus far. Not so much on the ice cream served with it, you can taste if it's quality ice cream or not.

Room for improvements OK Mar 26, 2015

For full review: http://nkikichua.blogspot.sg/2015/03/monochrome-fusion-bistro-south-bridge.html

Monochrome Bistro brings out a very futuristic and classy atmosphere, I would say it's more of a casual dining. There are some dishes all would love and some all would not want to try again, unless with adjustments made.

Some dishes that are worth trying would definitely be their cakes and ice-cream! Such as the Black Sesame ice-cream and Sticky Date Pudding. For savoury, Thai Sauce Coated House Wings, tossed in Thai chilli and sesame seeds is another crowd's favourite.

Sadly for Snapper Loin Cha Soba, the soba was overcooked and soggy. That is not the way to eat soba, imo. Some other dishes lacks the consistency and the prices may be a tad too steep.

Breakfast Menu OK Mar 05, 2015
Categories : Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | Bars/Lounges

Breakfast menu is available from 8am to 11am during weekdays and on Saturdays, MEDZS will be extending the breakfast menu to an all-day dining one for brunch goers! Prices for Croissants starts from $3.90, Artisan Sandwiches and Baguette starts from $11.90, and French Bread Pizza from $9.90. Apart from the bread, they serve plated breakfast at $4.90 onwards too!

Breakfast isn't complete without a cup of good coffee, Hazelnut Latte [$4.90]. Their coffee tends to be too sweet for me at times. Who say you can't have their all-time-favourite Rainbow Cake during breakfast! smile
