Insa-dong is located in the heart of Seoul, where the streets bustle with their traditional culture, crafts and FOOD! It is a quaint neighborhood filled with boutique galleries, exquisite tea houses, street stalls, restaurants and cafes. Hoping to portray a culture with a similar theme in mind, Café Insa-dong boasts an authentic interior, serving some of the popular dessert choices in South Korea.

Café Insa-dong is a cosy cafe to be in, complemented with their specially-chosen art pieces adorned on the walls. This Korean dessert joint serves up a huge range of Patbingsu desserts and Injeolmi toast.

This is a very popular dessert in South Korea, with many different variations of style and flavours. At Cafe Insadong, this milk flavoured shaved ice was generously filled with red beans and sweet potato paste, showered with crunchy almond slices and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The azuki red beans were soft and moist, not overly sweet. As I dig deeper into the dessert I found their famous rice cakes hidden in it. These rice cakes are meticulously handmade by them with a soft and chewy texture, just how I like it!

Toasted white bread with grilled rice cake in the center, drizzled with honey and dusted with powdered soybean. Not only was it visually appealing, it tasted just as good! It had a crispy crust with a chewy center, making it an enjoyable dessert. Definitely a treat for those with a sweet tooth!

I would come back if they have more savoury items or main courses. If not, I think I will try other Korean cafes for more good food.  yummy

The much raved and highly anticipated cafe from Taiwan is in town, Dazzling Cafe. Their popularity since its emergence in 2010 has tamed fans all across the world and has bedazzled us in more ways than we could imagine. Their traditional Honey Toast along with many other food offerings brings delight to my senses, thus I was excited to try them as I did not get to when I was in Taiwan.

The interior is themed in a light pastel colour, entailing its sophisticated and elegant nature. This modern mix brings with it some quirky tails to it, like the rabbit ears chair and the iconic 'Dazzling' logo within the establishment. If you are lucky enough you could be one of the few busking in the cute-sy rabbit chairs.

Not the kind of waffle I adore, it was kinda chewy and soft. I prefer my waffle to be crispier on the outside and fluffier inside. The strawberry ice-cream was yummy and likeable, it was sweet with a tinge of sourness. Very refreshing without being too creamy.

Being a huge fan of Matcha, how can I resist their Matcha with Azuki Honey Toast?!? This dish has been "haunting" my Instagram feed ever since Dazzling Cafe opened in Singapore lol
Honey toasted bread, covered with vanilla whip and drizzled with matcha sauce, this sounds tempting enough. What's more, it is topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream, macaron and pretzel; such a beautiful dessert which was full of matcha goodness!!!
However, taste wise was a lil disappointing. I would love it if it was ice-cream > cream, it was too creamy. However, fans who adore matcha (green tea) flavoured desserts should still give it a shot.

This may not be the most visually appealing dish, but DAMN! This was definitely my favourite out of all. With creamy custard stuffed in the middle and a slice of cheese on top of each toast, each ingredient complemented one another perfectly. It was a great combination of sweet and savoury; looks may not be everything, this was simply delicious and I couldn't stop indulging in it!

Not only do Dazzling Cafe serves a wide range of desserts, one of the savoury dishes I tried was the Mentaiko Spaghetti In Cream Sauce. It is a simple dish yet packed full with flavour; quite a comforting and delicious dish. However, I feel it is a lil pricey, definitely not worth $18.90++!!
Most of their food items comes with a hefty price tag, but a big THUMBS UP for the beautiful presentation of their dishes and not forgetting the wonderful ambience which I love. Besides the presentation, Dazzling Cafe's toasts can withstand long photo taking sessions which is what we love about it. All my friends managed to snap beautiful shots of them and were so busy uploading on their Instagram pages smile I look forward to visit Dazzling again to try their full menu soon! like

Scrumptious At The Turf Cry Jun 13, 2015

Located at The Grandstand, Scrumptious At The Turf is a place where you can indulge in hearty Western comfort food.

The interior decor of Scrumptious At The Turf is simple and minimal which allows diners to feel cosy and relaxed. It is extremely homely thus making it a great place for gatherings or just to relax on a lazy afternoon.

This breakfast platter was one of my favourites, which featured quite fluffy and moist scrambled eggs with the usual works (bacon, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, toast).

The Scrumpty Egg is served with two sunny side-up eggs on a bed of egg, bacon and prawn.

Pretty decent truffle fries. Not all fries infused with truffle oil though fries were big and crispy. Would prefer the fries to be soaked more in truffle!

Pan Seared Dory drizzled with cherry tomato vinaigrette and finished of with a green pea puree served with baby tomatoes.

Seafood Aglio Olio ($16) - Big and juicy prawns and mussels were sitting on top of the pasta, just a simple dish which was tasted not too bad.

Luscious and rich, this cake is a real treat for all chocolate lovers. I strongly recommend this sinful dessert which was totally worth the calories! Try pairing it with their wide selection of teas or coffee, it will make a dessert-licious end to a sumptuous meal.

Their square waffles come in a stack of two, topped with two generous scoops of ice-cream and served with maple syrup.

Scrumptious At The Turf promises a "Swawesomastic" (sweet, awesome and fantastic) dining experience but sadly we did not enjoy ourselves. I do not think I will visit it again.
