Milk and Honey is housed right in the heart of a neighborhood in Bukit Batok. Here, they focus not only on their popular gelato and quaffles, they have also introduced a wide range of plated desserts, salads and sandwiches as well. At Milk and Honey, they hope to bring family and friends together to bond through a simple meal.

Milk and Honey Cafe retains a minimalist approach within their interior which was beautifully complemented with dimly lit hanging lamps. It is a very cosy place designed with faux brick walls, a really suitable place for people to chill and relax. They also have a little post-it wall where customers can write their well wishes or simply just to leave their messages behind!

One thing I fell in love with Milk and Honey Cafe is their plated desserts. Prepared daily by their own pastry chef, the presentation of these dishes were exquisite and beautifully crafted. Each and every one of them is painstakingly assembled to be presented in the most appealing way.

Milk and Honey's Banana Crumble was well packed with caramelized banana, crunchy baked crumble and banana tuile. Served with a smoked salted caramel gelato, this dish was not only visually appealing, it was delicious!

Served with a scoop of vanilla gelato, Milk and Honey's Sticky Date Pudding was soft and delightfully moist. Drizzled in the butterscotch sauce, it created a perfect balance making it richer, sweeter and stickier. A decadent treat which I enjoyed.

A fantastic combination of flourless chocolate cake, latte gelato, espresso sabayon with a chocolate cylinder shell, this was definitely my favourite plated dessert. It was rich with a moist texture and topped with an intense coffee flavour, simply heavenly.

Apart from their gelato, quaffles and plated desserts, Milk and Honey cafe also serves a variety of sandwiches and salads.

Milk and Honey Cafe is worth a trip for its plated desserts! Foodies should head down especially those staying in the West smile

A homely and old-school cafe, Le Halo can be found tucked away in the old estates of Jalan Bukit Ho Swee. A pretty cafe with little bits of nostalgia displayed around, they serve all-day breakfast items amongst other cafe-type food. The owner Elia was a banker turned restaurateur who collected all the items in the café, sourcing each one from around the world and displaying them in this vintage place.

Stepping into Le Halo brought back immense nostalgia and I was expressing those fond memories with a number of “OOOHH” and “WOW THEY HAVE THIS” at most items in the cafe! It had a cosy interior which was warm and pleasant to be in, where we spent more than two hours just playing games we enjoyed during our childhood and hanging out.

Every corner of the cafe is so beautifully placed and designed!

This dish is artfully crafted and boasts such a beautiful display. The Eggs Benedict at Le Halo are served in two ways. Poached egg, ham and crispy bacon on toast and the other in a muffin cup filled with ham, egg and cheese. The eggs were runny with a cheesy surprise hidden beneath the muffin, it was really yummy. I found the muffin cup one delightfully different from the usual Eggs Benedict as it was not accompanied with hollandaise sauce, instead replaced with a cheesy interior.

The Chicken Sliders were presented in a miniature fashion but boasts great flavour which totally won me over. I was impressed with the shredded chicken sandwiched between the buns which was so tender and yummy. The BBQ sauce which was drizzled on it had just the right balance of sweet and sourness.

Muar Otah on top of toast, I did not expect that such an unpretentious dish will be so satisfying. The juiciness from the succulent chunks of sweet-tasting fresh mackerel makes this dish both fragrant and yummy. Thumbs up for this dish.

A beautiful and colourful dessert to end the meal smile

Insa-dong is located in the heart of Seoul, where the streets bustle with their traditional culture, crafts and FOOD! It is a quaint neighborhood filled with boutique galleries, exquisite tea houses, street stalls, restaurants and cafes. Hoping to portray a culture with a similar theme in mind, Café Insa-dong boasts an authentic interior, serving some of the popular dessert choices in South Korea.

Café Insa-dong is a cosy cafe to be in, complemented with their specially-chosen art pieces adorned on the walls. This Korean dessert joint serves up a huge range of Patbingsu desserts and Injeolmi toast.

This is a very popular dessert in South Korea, with many different variations of style and flavours. At Cafe Insadong, this milk flavoured shaved ice was generously filled with red beans and sweet potato paste, showered with crunchy almond slices and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The azuki red beans were soft and moist, not overly sweet. As I dig deeper into the dessert I found their famous rice cakes hidden in it. These rice cakes are meticulously handmade by them with a soft and chewy texture, just how I like it!

Toasted white bread with grilled rice cake in the center, drizzled with honey and dusted with powdered soybean. Not only was it visually appealing, it tasted just as good! It had a crispy crust with a chewy center, making it an enjoyable dessert. Definitely a treat for those with a sweet tooth!

I would come back if they have more savoury items or main courses. If not, I think I will try other Korean cafes for more good food.  yummy

Scrumptious At The Turf Cry Jun 13, 2015

Located at The Grandstand, Scrumptious At The Turf is a place where you can indulge in hearty Western comfort food.

The interior decor of Scrumptious At The Turf is simple and minimal which allows diners to feel cosy and relaxed. It is extremely homely thus making it a great place for gatherings or just to relax on a lazy afternoon.

This breakfast platter was one of my favourites, which featured quite fluffy and moist scrambled eggs with the usual works (bacon, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, toast).

The Scrumpty Egg is served with two sunny side-up eggs on a bed of egg, bacon and prawn.

Pretty decent truffle fries. Not all fries infused with truffle oil though fries were big and crispy. Would prefer the fries to be soaked more in truffle!

Pan Seared Dory drizzled with cherry tomato vinaigrette and finished of with a green pea puree served with baby tomatoes.

Seafood Aglio Olio ($16) - Big and juicy prawns and mussels were sitting on top of the pasta, just a simple dish which was tasted not too bad.

Luscious and rich, this cake is a real treat for all chocolate lovers. I strongly recommend this sinful dessert which was totally worth the calories! Try pairing it with their wide selection of teas or coffee, it will make a dessert-licious end to a sumptuous meal.

Their square waffles come in a stack of two, topped with two generous scoops of ice-cream and served with maple syrup.

Scrumptious At The Turf promises a "Swawesomastic" (sweet, awesome and fantastic) dining experience but sadly we did not enjoy ourselves. I do not think I will visit it again.

The Rabbit Hole aims to offer its customers a unique and interesting salad experience. It encompasses a cosy café-styled diner appeal instead of the usual stern looking green and white outlook which most salad bars portrays. This appeal is more welcoming and it encourages people to start eating healthily!

Although I love to indulge in good food, I am a health-conscious person so I was excited ato indulge in some delicious salads!
As The Rabbit Hole focuses on quality and wholesomeness, all of their salad dressings are freshly made from scratch with no added preservatives.

I enjoyed this unique idea of having the dressings in shot glasses, as it encompasses the idea of a Salad ‘Bar’, with 'shots' lined up waiting for me to try! It is a refreshing take as compared to other salad places I have been to, where the dressings are usually poured directly onto my salad. With the dressing being separated, I can adjust the amount of dressing accordingly. And plus it’s picture worthy too!

Their toppings selection are also changed frequently to keep things interesting for customers. I've always thought that salads only consist of vegetables and fruits but here at The Rabbit Hole, some of their bestsellers even feature deli products such as chicken and beef!

The Rabbit Hole loves to translate simple gourmet food to salads. One such creation is the Apple Pie Salad which was served in an earthy brown wooden bowl. An apple pie inspired salad packing all the savoury taste into a healthy and delicious bowl of salad, simply DELISH!

Served with juicy and tender premium beef, this is a perfect post-workout meal!

The Rabbit Hole encourages customers to craft their own salads as it allows them to tune and enjoy the salads to their liking. So TA-DAHHH... Here is our creation!

The Rabbit Hole salads are fresh, complemented by amazing homemade dressings and served in wooden bowls which create a refreshing feel. Love how friendly the hosts are, thank you Justin and Valery for the warm hospitality. It was great to start our weekends with such a hearty and healthy dinner!
So foodies, what are you waiting for? Start eating healthy today! <3
