The much raved and highly anticipated cafe from Taiwan is in town, Dazzling Cafe. Their popularity since its emergence in 2010 has tamed fans all across the world and has bedazzled us in more ways than we could imagine. Their traditional Honey Toast along with many other food offerings brings delight to my senses, thus I was excited to try them as I did not get to when I was in Taiwan.

The interior is themed in a light pastel colour, entailing its sophisticated and elegant nature. This modern mix brings with it some quirky tails to it, like the rabbit ears chair and the iconic 'Dazzling' logo within the establishment. If you are lucky enough you could be one of the few busking in the cute-sy rabbit chairs.

Not the kind of waffle I adore, it was kinda chewy and soft. I prefer my waffle to be crispier on the outside and fluffier inside. The strawberry ice-cream was yummy and likeable, it was sweet with a tinge of sourness. Very refreshing without being too creamy.

Being a huge fan of Matcha, how can I resist their Matcha with Azuki Honey Toast?!? This dish has been "haunting" my Instagram feed ever since Dazzling Cafe opened in Singapore lol
Honey toasted bread, covered with vanilla whip and drizzled with matcha sauce, this sounds tempting enough. What's more, it is topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream, macaron and pretzel; such a beautiful dessert which was full of matcha goodness!!!
However, taste wise was a lil disappointing. I would love it if it was ice-cream > cream, it was too creamy. However, fans who adore matcha (green tea) flavoured desserts should still give it a shot.

This may not be the most visually appealing dish, but DAMN! This was definitely my favourite out of all. With creamy custard stuffed in the middle and a slice of cheese on top of each toast, each ingredient complemented one another perfectly. It was a great combination of sweet and savoury; looks may not be everything, this was simply delicious and I couldn't stop indulging in it!

Not only do Dazzling Cafe serves a wide range of desserts, one of the savoury dishes I tried was the Mentaiko Spaghetti In Cream Sauce. It is a simple dish yet packed full with flavour; quite a comforting and delicious dish. However, I feel it is a lil pricey, definitely not worth $18.90++!!
Most of their food items comes with a hefty price tag, but a big THUMBS UP for the beautiful presentation of their dishes and not forgetting the wonderful ambience which I love. Besides the presentation, Dazzling Cafe's toasts can withstand long photo taking sessions which is what we love about it. All my friends managed to snap beautiful shots of them and were so busy uploading on their Instagram pages smile I look forward to visit Dazzling again to try their full menu soon! like

A well-hidden cafe above Thai Express, this beautiful cafe serves a wide array of exquisite desserts which makes it a great place to spend your afternoon away.

I fell in love with the interior of Mu Parlour once we stepped in. Modern art pieces and whimsical furniture pieces complemented the white walls perfectly. I adore how Mu Parlour uses the minimalist approach for the cafe which makes it so elegant and attractive.

This luscious dessert boasts a strong hint of mocha taste, making it a decadent treat for both chocolate and coffee lovers!

Infused with a lemon core, the Formagae Blanc has a delicious blend of both sweet and sour flavours. I expected it to be a tart-based cake, but it turns out to have a spongy cake base. This was not my first choice, but surprisingly it was delectable with just the right touch of sweetness.

Another view of this beautifully crafted dessert, the Formagae Blanc.

Mu Parlour is a quiet and very cosy place. It is the perfect place to chill, read a book, and watch the world go by.

On The Table- A Gem In The West Smile Jun 10, 2015

Another gem located in the western part of Singapore, On The Table serves a wide selection of food, ice-cream and waffles which boasts for a worthy trip down. As a sister restaurant to Lola's cafe, this place incorporates certain similarities but with very distinct variations. I find that the ambience of a place is significantly as important as the food, and naturally this cafe stood out for me.

On the Table retains a chic-industrial approach within their interior which is beautifully complemented with dimly lit hanging lights and dark grey walls. This down-to-earth aesthetic properties of exposed piping, industrial bar lighting and seating adds up to the urban and metropolitan vibe of this spacious cafe. The colours of the place are earthy (except for a few brightly coloured chairs), which makes everything very pleasing to the eyes. A cosy and sophisticated place to dine with friends but definitely not a place to chill as it gets extremely crowded especially during lunch hours.

I love the idea of having cosy spots in cafes, they give us diners a comforting place to lounge the evening away~~

A new dish recently added to On The Table's dinner menu, the Truffle Bacon Mac and Cheese was a dish I instantly fell in love with. Topped with honey glazed bacon, this unpretentious dish was fragrant and rich, yet not too cheesy. A must try if you are heading down for dinner!

Another new dish on their dinner menu is the Gnocchi with Broccoli and Mushrooms which is made up of potato gnocchi, shimeji mushrooms, broccoli, 63 deg poached eggs and drizzled with shaved parmesan cheese. A simple and comforting dish yet packed full of flavours, making it quite delicious.

A classic favourite which is available at both Lola's Cafe and On The Table, these honey wings definitely lived up to my expectations. They were well-marinated, the exterior was crispy while the meat retained its tender texture. The paprika spices in the marination was mild yet complemented the wings beautifully. With a tinge of sweetness coming from the honey, it was a lip-smacking dish!

This was not too bad, not that fantastic either. It was crispy on the outside but it was a little too hard on the edges. The Belgian Chocolate Ice-Cream however was a delight to us. It was smooth, dense and so delectable!

Great food, wonderful ambiance and their friendly staff made our dining experience at On The Table an enjoyable one. Moreover, although the prices have increased, their dishes are still one of the most affordable ones and I am glad that they do not charge GST and service charge. Definitely one of the cafes to add to my list of favourites! balloon
