is this even called fish & chips? Cry Dec 22, 2010

Bf loves to try out new places to eat and hence we came to dine at this restaurant in the far west! Bf ordered a fish & chips and we were shocked when the dish came. He said it was exactly like 'fish finger' (u can do an image search of that in google to have a look for yourself tongue). And what's worst was that it was over fried on the skin and soggy within. (we suspected that it was fried before defreezing properly, or maybe fried immediately after being taken out from the freezer.)

I ordered a watermelon juice and what came was 90% water + 10% watermelon. I wonder how the other diners can still dine normally at the restaurant. (fyi, most of them were foreigners) Well, maybe the taste of the food suits the foreigners than the locals? i dont know.

most authentic lor mee Smile Dec 22, 2010

Whenever i think of fried prawns, i'll think of this restaurant. Actually on the shopfront, this restaurant looks just like a normal looking eating house (or kopitiam), but dont be deceived by its looks. They served traditional authentic lor mee here. While scooping the lor mee into the smaller bowl, i can already smell the rich fragrance of the starchy soup base. There is also some 'lala' inside the lor mee. It adds an unique taste to the original taste of lor mee. Also, the fried prawns are a must-try dish here too. The dish comes along with a sweet sauce & chili sauce. Once u start having one, u'll be tempted to have more!

I'm back at Tea Cosy again and this time with another friend. During my last visit, I had a set dinner which consists of 3 course meal. However, I had ala-carte this time round. I ordered a steak (medium well) & potatoes ($21.95) and luckily it came with a bowl of salad. smile At least, i dont feel so sinful & hearty after finishing the whole steak. Oh, I forgot to order baked mushrooms!! Anyway my friend's gastric was not doing well, so i didnt ordered any more food. sad My friend ordered the Pasta Arrabiata (Pan Grilled Prawns). I had this the other time and thus recommend this to my friend. However the sauce was quite oily compared to the one i had.

Well, i'm gonna bring my bf to Tea Cosy the next time round!

Ops, BF's family cannot eat the beefballs here due to their religion, but we all still managed to have our dinner with some other signature dishes at Ikea!

I find that the food trolley is very creative as you can put 3 trays in it. I also realized that the queue in any ikea (in Sg) is always LONG! Well, that doesnt stop me from queueing for a good 15 mins before i get to order the food!

I ordered a Salmon Ratatouille ($7.50) for myself. It is served with crushed peppercorns, served with potato wedges and ratatouille on the side. The ratatouille sauce goes well with the salmon. However i find that the pepper on the salmon can be better if they were smaller or undetectable in texture.

I had a pleasant dinner in ikea and looking forward for the meatballs in my next visit!

Noodles in an old Coffeeshop OK Dec 20, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Coffeeshop

It was my 2nd visit here. Me and 2 friends seemed to over too much for our brunch. hehe! We ordered 3 sets of breakfast (each set consists of 2 eggs, 1 cup of milo, 2 pcs & breads - $2.90). On top of that, each of us ordered a bowl of noodles. Although this coffeeshop is quite run down, the taste of the food is still acceptable. The bowl of noodles just cost $2.50 each which is very worthy for its portion. Somehow or rather, eating at this old coffeeshop just gives reminisce back in the 90s.
