Nicely done Omu Rice Smile Jan 30, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Food Court

The presentation and neatness must be given a thumbs up for the promotion Omu rice (omelette rice) topped in curry sauce with chicken/pork bits ( you can choose, I chose pork).

Curry was not spicy at all, and they gave the right dose of it to accompany you throughout your meal. The taste was pleasant and not overpowering of any hard spices, and the portion gives you the right amount to fill your tum.

It is well done and the promotion price of $4.5 was a perfectly good choice. How the omelette was cooked as I observed and how the cook wraps the rice neatly in a long cylindric form and placing it into the hot stone deserves the Grade A cleanliness. smile

Given the highest score as for me I consider it to be one of the to-go stalls in this food court.

tofu and greenery rice Smile Jan 30, 2012

Categories : Coffeeshop

Back in the usual place where I eat across my place, it was time to get rid of all the bad things of eating no fibres, I chose my usual healthy looking favorite of fried tofu sapo, green vegetables in chopped garlic and sweet sour pork as a complement.

I was lucky this evening to have chosen the right vegetables as it tasted sweet and the garlic, fragrant with its smell - most likely out of the cooking pan and not cooked several hours back. Pork was definitely a tad cold because it was there and the tofu was cooked just at the nice level of softness and the soup sauce wasn't that salty, hence adding soy sauce to enhance the flavor.smile

curry puff Smile Jan 28, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Concept | Desserts and Cakes

When your hunger strikes between classes, my go to would be this curry puff by Rochor Beancurd. Filled with lots of carbs and fillings of potato and curry, this one buck deal is so much better than a mere hollow you tiao! tongue

This curry puff is actually pretty spicey too, and the braided top is thick and crunchy, just the way I like it.

Dracula and the pacifier Smile Jan 28, 2012

Categories : Italian | Pasta | Steaks and Grills

I used to be a frequent for Mad for Garlic and rested well for a year after there was no other promotions. tongue

Coming back as I have a coupon from Citibank with my cousins, herein I introduce to you today things I tried for the first time that day.

The dracula garlic bread for instance, was called dracula for the full-cloved garlics placed in their clear oil sauce in the middle for you to eat with the bread, hence, dracula garlic bread! Or, more like anti. This is NOT Recommended for those who do not like garlic! The huge cloves would already intimidate your inner vampires. And it was a tad spicy although they say it would have 3chilli rate!

The salad however is a win - everyone should order the caesar salad, which could serve 2-3 girls for a lunch or dinner meal, or a sharing plate for 5-6 people! Fresh huge green leaves topped with croutons and bountiful of cherry tomatoes, and topped with a lot of cheese, this is one of the nicest salads ever eaten!

Ebi Ramen the Great! Smile Jan 28, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

This was the menu a year back specially only for the Jakarta Branch. Marutama is known for the chicken soup broth ramen which was very strong in its flavoring and juices.

And this was the bowl I was looking for - the mix of chicken broth and sweetness of ebi juice into one hearty bowl. Not exactly hearty as this ramen bowl is pretty tight and small than a usual ramen which are in authentic Japan, massive.

It tasted just the most delicious way as I wanted it - this is the best choice for those who had trouble finishing the only original chicken soup, as I had a hard time - it was so strong! This has the nice amount of rich chicken with the fresh, lightness of seafood ebi and a spritz of lemon. Ramen was springy and sluuuurpingly deeeelish. mad

$15 was the price you gotta fish in. It is a bit on the ex side judging from portion, but taste cannot lose.

I even have forgotten halfway to add in sesame and fried garlic!!! Which means, the bowl is good as it comes to your way without any other condiment.

Service was A+, the waitress was caring and attentive, noting on when our water glass was halfway empty and asking how is the food.

Best thing was, THERE WAS NO Q!
