Sad Kue Sus Cry Mar 03, 2011
Categories : Malay | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

I was craving my ultimate dessert piece, the cream puff or kue sus in Indonesian. And Kedai kue kue is an Indonesian joint that sells all things indo from the cakes, cookies to main course foods.

So I thought it was authentic and it would taste like the ones back home.

Only $1 each, but it saddens me on how unsatisfying it was. The skin was hard, the custard cream was not smooth but tasteless and hard. Totally unsatisfying and never going to come back to try.

Pasta S Cry Dec 15, 2010
Categories : Italian | Food Court | Pasta

Pasta and Pizza place for a price. Quite expensive for a local hawker level eatery, Pasta Manna should be better which I haven't tried (word of mouth is sure strong).

But I wanted western, after coming all the way down before partying hard in my friend's place.

I ordered the seafood cream pasta, as I was feeling creamy. The pasta took a while, but at least you know the chef cook it the moment you order. Warning to famished people not to eat from here. Sadly, tastewise was weird, the cream was not sweet nor salty or bitter or whatever, it's like eating paper. Seafood was OK but pasta portion was quite small.

Not recommending to waste your calories away here.
Cookeeatmonster, hunting for the worthy places of bringing your monstrous appetite.

Coupon Go-er #1 Cry Nov 30, 2010
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Steaks and Grills

I still had the G-Market coupon, which I've told previously in my old review, and November was the last month to finish it all! So, I invited my friend as a looong belated birthday celebration for me. So long enough already.

This time, I tried something simple, the garlic holic rice. I wanted something spicy to keep me wake all night, so the simple garlic holic rice with 3 chillis on the side was a choice. It's originally $15.90+, but with the coupon, it has the price flat way cheaper with a drink included - the usual lemon tea.

When it came, it was werved in a hot plate, and topped with a LOT of fried garlic. Talk about totally mad mad for garlic! It was standard though, There was only rice, and almost not a hint of 'meat/filling' of it, rice was dominating overall. And the garlic/onion was making is so bitter, as it was prolly over-fried/cook, and it wasn't spicy at all! This was 3 chillis and after asking a request to make it extra super spicy, there was no difference. I'm not impressed with this dish, and its the cheapest from the whole rice menu anyways.
Must learn from mistake to never buy this menu!

I guarantee the other menus are much more super!!!

regular fried rice OK Jan 30, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

I missed rice to this point that whatever was open at this 9ish PM was this stall. Not many stuff going on, I ordered this yangzhou fried rice, that came measly just there without not much condiments or seafood to expect.

The taste was OK, with soy sauce and chilli added on and I I could barely sort of felt the shrimp bits more or less around. Good thing that it was not so oily and the cook gave a lot of pepper to begin with!

sesame ball OK Jan 28, 2012
Categories : Food Court

Taking a break from walking around jalan-jalan, those wee hours between 4-5pm is just the time where your brain urges you to chew on something. When bought, it was probably cooked already for hours back, so it was hard and cold. My usual favorite of warm, chewy and crispy crunchy goodness in a ball has dissolved into a stale cold piece. If it was warm, it wouldve been better, as this ball isn't as sweet as other places, suiting my level nicely.
