Do you prata in suntec! Smile Mar 27, 2011

It was a pleasant surprise from afar when I saw the interesting name for the stall "What You Do Prata"! Remember the previous visit for me back in Wisma and their great impression on the nice service, I decided to eat from this stall again because I was starving and I know the portion was big big big.

This time though the chef didn't look too friendly as the previous one so yes, I finally ordered the chicken murtabak! The difference though is that the chicken is a bit hard and bland, I do prefer the mutton one better now. But the serving is of the same standard and it was really filling!

Check out their menu and cute logo this time which I took! tongue

a new indian experience Smile Mar 20, 2011

It was my first time being brought to Dempsey area outside PS cafe, and it's my cousin's favorite places to get his Indian fix. It was a little family gathering and I tagged along. Boy, was it packed on a Sunday night around 8PM! It was really full, so from there I felt like OK, this must be a really good place to eat!

Was excited cos of my hunger, and after a while, being a full house, it was hard to get the person to reach to your table and finally order. So my cousin ordered a variety from chicken, potato patties, vegetables... and the rice was a must, briyani.

I was surprise for them to only pass up banana leaves in front of me to each person then the spoon and fork that came along later.

Masala tea as my drink came after that, and it took a while for the rice-man, which was the guy who brought rice. Basically at an up to you buffet, he'll ask you is the rice enough? and Add more if not. It's not in a portion, but like you can ask for more and more. It took a long while until our orders are served, then the sauce man came along, asking if you want gravy and pickles, and "if it's enough?"

So, it was a new style of eating this Indian way of being served one by one. And you can have some more if you are not full enough. I had my big share cos my cous ordered too much main course oh goodness but the authentic taste was there.

Place is overly crowded and outdoors, and the stall looks like the usual little india kind of stall so hygiene-wise it's not restaurant ala dempsey standard just to say! Finally after the whole round I heard that the price is so ex - have they gone up, I don't know - for this dinner so gotta prepare quite a sum for an indian feast!

Dragon coming your way! Smile Mar 19, 2011

This is one of the quietest or at least not as famous like in malls so its here to skip the Q and immediately get your sushi fix! lol

I ordered the awesome dragon roll with avocado with shrimp and unagi. Ohmygoodness its melting licking good once you have started to chew a piece of sushi. I don't think thatthis franchise joint needs any more explanation in terms of food.

Service here was also more efficient - since it's not a full house, and so it's easier to call them for assistance. It's a good hideout to quiet away from the Orchard crowd more or less~

Rubber noodles FTW Smile Mar 19, 2011

Must definitely eat their crispy, thin skinned wanton that is so crispy and heaty after you eat a whole bowl! tongue

I ordered the upsize with chasiew and wonton noodle. The noodles were still hot as the restaurant was still quite empty around 6pm, and it was chewy like rubber but in a good way! You could munch this over and over and eat with the wonton. Don't forget the mayonnaise - ask for it! Fried wonton is great with it.

greasy like home:) Smile Mar 19, 2011

As greasy as oily as creamy as curry as the food can get, I was starving like mad and well landed in Food Opera. For the first time ever, I tried my home food and well, was quite pleased!

Ordered the rice with perkedel (potato cake), the local style vegetable I donno how to say, the eggplant and chicken. Ah I was hungry or what it was good! The eggplant wasn't as mushy and it was still in good shape. It's good that they pay attention to those things and not mush up everything! smile
