Gooey favorite Smile Jan 09, 2012

I have eaten this in the past, but then I started picking it up and then it ended as a favorite whenever lunch hour is around going to the office.

The gooey soup with kway tiao (choosing rice instead of egg noodles as a healthier version and to avoid acne pimples) and the shark fritters which I don't believe (poor sharks but I dont mind if its normal fish) is just as addictive the more you eat it.

It doesn't need to be introduced again, with a bowl of $2.50, the gooey soup gives you the sense of fulfillment in your tummy with a tablespoon++ of black vinegar and chopped spring onions, adding that zing of freshness and eliminating the fishy after taste.

Even the lady now knows me asking "are you studying here" and with the articles pasted all over their board, again, no introduction needed as even Singapore-based mangaka artist (i forgot the name but i've met him for real) drew this famous lor mee as a Singaporean dish must-try!

The last day to use, finally used all out with the rest! I chose to try the Red Devil pasta, originally $19.90, with 3 chilli sign. But again, it doesn't matter, even requesting specially fro to the staff to add an additional spice, like 'must be super spicy ok!" Is not working.

But this red devil pasta is an improvement! It has a slliiight taste of spiciness. An interesting pasta, it has the seafood of clams, oysters, squid, and little scallops. Really, again I'll recommend almost any seafood platters in this restaurant!

The pasta is not creamy, but soupy. It's a red clear liquid soup of pasta, so it was quite interesting. My korean friend whom I ate with today remarked that this is so Korean! Well, this is a korean-italian fusion joint indeed!

New promotion! They've got this new member card promotion, so on lunch weekdays you'll get 20%, and 15% on dinner. I'm not sure how but looks to me we should collect until 5x eating there then we'll get the permanent card? Not sure, but you can watch this out!

Note that the coupon is only usable on weekdays, hence I tried to fit in as much dinners as I can in this shop!

Today I tried the lobster pasta! I wanted something creamy and I haven't tasted. Judging from other reviewers, with the tobiko eggs as its topping, I think its a worth plate to try using my coupon! tongue

So the lobster, originally from $17.90 or $18.90, came 10 minutes after ordering. I was half-way sipping my lemon tea already, as I was starving! I chose something creamy instead of my previous craving to order aglio olio to feel fuller faster and not to eat anything else! tongue As if it works though.

This pasta, is creamy, the taste would make you start feeling sick if you eat too much; it's that creamy cheese kind! I'm not sure, is lobster's meat like scallops? I don't taste the difference but I love them both! The seafood really does fill the plate, and the noodles actually much lesser than the pasta portion itself. This is one of the must tries in MFG! Not much garlic is felt, for not-garlic-loving people!

The best well-kept public secret is noneother than the long-Q Western stall cuisine at the subsidized Koufu foodcourt at SMU University!

Best known for its big portion, hearty generous side dish and being priced for only around $5-6, it is the best steal for your buck and taste guaranteed while filling your tum with good things.

For all fans of deep fried fillets and patties, the most popular dish would be the fish and chips, giving a side dish of huge fillet fish fried in breaded crumbs, french fries and chopped cabbage smeared in mayo and ketchup. For $5, it is seriously the best find ever to find this huge portion of poultry/meat anywhere else, and it is not greasy either - fried just right and piping crispy hot!

Always a favorite for me to come, service is also generally quick to the minute as they know how long the Q can be.smile

Dragon coming your way! Smile Mar 19, 2011

This is one of the quietest or at least not as famous like in malls so its here to skip the Q and immediately get your sushi fix! lol

I ordered the awesome dragon roll with avocado with shrimp and unagi. Ohmygoodness its melting licking good once you have started to chew a piece of sushi. I don't think thatthis franchise joint needs any more explanation in terms of food.

Service here was also more efficient - since it's not a full house, and so it's easier to call them for assistance. It's a good hideout to quiet away from the Orchard crowd more or less~
