D-I-Y EAT! Smile Aug 12, 2010

Because its near to school and is an escape if my pals are bored of 15 Minutes, we'd hop on over here to get our creative juices going in choosing things.
But I kind of hate mixing weird things together; I'd like my oreo to be plainly intact and as chocolatey as possible thanks. But I'd sip from someone else who's daring enough.
Anyhow, what's interesting is the do it yourself kind of mix for your drink or meal.
Calamari or Drumlets would be the usual appetizer choice which is crunchy deeeelish. mad
The best combo meal for me was probably the grilled dory fillet (healthy opt!) with fusilli, in chilli crab. Love the sauuuuuuce. Yum yum yum!
Next time I'd try the chicken whatever roll with cheese if I can recall. It's got such a nice ambience as well ya'll could just chill until nighttime comes. Sadly, it doesn't open supper hours like Spice does... Tee hee

Recommended Dish(es):  grilled dory fillet, chilli crab, cream based sauce, chicken chop, milo chocolate oreo!

My friend, a regular to most Thai Ex outlets, knew how the service was like which I was partly impressed. She said to me even the waitress here are all the same like the other one I frequently go, serving us casually and treat us like a friend, not as a king customer, which I dont mind and the waitress was kind and playful. Whatever I requested she immediately fetched it out.

The place wasn't full as there were only about 5 tables filled in this weekday night.

The main course, drink and dessert costed about $12. I ordered the thai fried rice, and it comes with a yam like coconut dessert and spring rolls.

The rice portion and how its fried is well done, and I immediately scarved it down. The spring rolls were quite hot as well from the fry. It was a good combination and I was longing for more rice as the chicken bits were already fried together into one rice portion.

The coconut dessert was a plus as it was a more authentic thai style. But then talk about the calories of the coconut, oh boy! tongue Whoever doesnt like coconut must kind of avoid this as it is very, very thick!

Ebi Ramen the Great! Smile Jan 28, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

This was the menu a year back specially only for the Jakarta Branch. Marutama is known for the chicken soup broth ramen which was very strong in its flavoring and juices.

And this was the bowl I was looking for - the mix of chicken broth and sweetness of ebi juice into one hearty bowl. Not exactly hearty as this ramen bowl is pretty tight and small than a usual ramen which are in authentic Japan, massive.

It tasted just the most delicious way as I wanted it - this is the best choice for those who had trouble finishing the only original chicken soup, as I had a hard time - it was so strong! This has the nice amount of rich chicken with the fresh, lightness of seafood ebi and a spritz of lemon. Ramen was springy and sluuuurpingly deeeelish. mad

$15 was the price you gotta fish in. It is a bit on the ex side judging from portion, but taste cannot lose.

I even have forgotten halfway to add in sesame and fried garlic!!! Which means, the bowl is good as it comes to your way without any other condiment.

Service was A+, the waitress was caring and attentive, noting on when our water glass was halfway empty and asking how is the food.

Best thing was, THERE WAS NO Q!

Red Mango Promo Smile Jan 19, 2012

Categories : Frozen Yogurt

Having a set of coupons for Red Mango Wilkie branch, I used up for the buy one get one medium cup. Seeing the menu, they change flavors daily and I would always pick the flavored one in the end compared to the plain one as it is very sour! tongue Just a heads out.

Flavored one today was the pink berry which had the icy tinge sweetness and sourness just right. Topping I ordered was the granola bits, which were generously given by a uber friendly staff - not the usual staff I see. So lucky me, and good for the hot days these days!!!

succulent tonkatsu oh katsu Smile Mar 31, 2011

Categories : Japanese

The succulent pork katsu is what you must try here. The winner from the rest of the pork katsu I've tried, Tonkichi is seriously giving a addictive headache in the golden crisp on the outside and a real soft bite on the inside.

Well, do be reminded of this motto forever. Tonkatsu = Tonkichi. Period. Theres' no best place to try the popular dish from Japan, breaded pork patty and either with cheese, curry, etc. of the restaurant gives and the hot piping rice and miso soup, Tonkichi is simply the best!

Don't have to elaborate anything, they're theeee best.
