Everyday Gelato! Smile Mar 30, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Bakery

The nice cozy place which is revamped to be like a quaint cafe compared to the previous stall in Sunshine Plaza is a great place with such a cheap price for Gelato is the best place to meet! Like their tagline "where gelato lovers meet", i think it's just more than that - some tea time or chilling time at this place esp. on weekdays that are empty is seriously cozy.

It's packed with magazines on each table and water is free to take on your own/served at most times when the place is quiet.

The ice cream prices are super duper cheap: 1 scoop for $3, double for $4, and triple for $5. TIP: Go for the $5 then share with your friend - or really, eat it on your own, you're able to!! tongue

Baileys taste is really strong and their famous ferrero rocher flavored ice cream!

monday meal of the day! Smile Mar 19, 2011

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Subway has been having their meal of the day promotion for $4.50 per 6-inch sub. On Monday which I came along with classmates across my school. I ordered it, it was roasted rhicken breast, with parmesan as the bread, and red wine vinegar. It gives a refreshing crunchy taste, tidbit of saltiness and a ckick of sourness from the vinegar based sauce, which you don't feel guilty compared to mayonaise dressing and its creamy base.

And did you know (or if I've read wrong) The sub is only like 240 calories for this 6 inch? Talk about healthy and guiltless. I'll top up to be a foot long to stay till dinner! mad

No. 1 Stall for Desserts Smile Dec 14, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

As we were sitting direct opposite of this stall, my friend was dreaming of Bubor Chacha. So she ordered here, for $2, and boy, as this was my first time tasting it, it was seriously hella good bowl of hot dessert. Melting point of your determination to stop eating desserts after 8PM. The sweetness was just nice, good for my milk-chocolate tongue and not to over indulge the taste with the fillings inside.

I then read their reviews that was listed on the wall there, and found that their sesame paste ($1.70) was their top famous choice, and so I ordered that. The sesame paste was came in thick dollops of black goodness, and it wasn't sweet at all. It was even better when I mixed it with my other dessert bowl of yam paste. mad

Don't leave with only the hot desserts, their cold desserts are also sinful! The cold mango dessert for $2 is a bang for your buck with real mango bits and sweet, quite thick cold paste to cleanse your sweet tooth in a healthier way. My friend who ordered this was so addicted she bought another one to be brought home and kept for tomorrow's dessert. smile

Absolute recommended. Will be coming back to try other desserts offered!

Cookeeatmonster, hunting for the worthy places of bringing your monstrous appetite.

Olive fried rice Smile Nov 30, 2010
Categories : Thai | Hawker Centre

A place I never been to, I never know, to do some gastronomic journey! I asked my friend who lives in Toa Payoh area, a place I never really explored except the boring MRT to bring me some insider area to eat. It was quite late as I was lost but managed finally to well, get together and she recommended me this place somewhere in this area with another bus from the MRT stop.

And after talking, she just told me that no, she has never eaten at this place but, hey, they have stonegrill express out of the blue in the middle of Toa Payoh and not in Orchard? This is seriously one hella good stuff that we city people are missing! Anyhow,

I wanted Thai as she said she had tried it before and thus, I was craving for anything with rice. This stall, looks authentic in its thai and looks famous too. They even had their name card, so I'm quite sure they already take like catering orders or something. The lady is originally from Thailand, so this is not a place to be missed for thai lovers around the area!

The Olive fried rice ($.3.50) is fried with well, of course olive oil and using the onions and spices to make the rice purplish yellow, then added with cashew nuts to balance the flavor to be sweet with the choped beef and raw mango. You could also ask if you want it spicy too if you'd like! The lady was so kind and they'll send you the food.

The taste was new to me as its my first trying olive fried rice, I can only say one thing, its edible, its a new taste for me, I wish they'd give more beef, but the cashew nuts is a nice touch! smile

Will come back for more, the other menu looks tantalizing for about $4! Olive was the cheapest tongue

The coupon, never-ending, #2 this month. Another visit tomorrow to finish off the vouchers! mad

Today, my pals went out to order the salami pepperoni spicy pizza (originally $17.90) which wasn't spicy at all - OK, just a teeeeny bit, but it tasted quite thick in its bite although it really is very thin. The pepperoni was all large and huge, and the taste was all OK without additional cheese! Quite a light pizza to be able to finish it all, compared to thick Pizza Hut. Quite surprise that there wasn't any hint of much garlic here! tongue

I ordered the grilled pizza (originally $18.90+) to try. It came in a long plate, which in size should be slightly smaller than the round sized pizza. Managed to finish it all swipe it clean, that pizza topped with fresh black mushrooms so fresh once you bite, all the clear juices comes out, and the mozzarella cheese which was given at a nice portion. It was topped with sweet chilli - don't be afraid, it's not spicy at all seriously! - and pepperoni and bacon bits, not bad pizza!

My other friend by my recommendation is the mushroom chicken risotto! The only difference this time is that, it doesn't look as much as the time I first ate - maybe because of the voucher tongue so they do cut down the portion! Last time I couldn't even finish, this time it looked quite small although the chicken and taste still do not change which is great. Refer to my old post, everyone gave a thumbs up for this risotto man!

Lemon teas as our drinks: usually I could really taste the lemon, this time round they added too much ice, and water? It has started to taste a bit too plain than the old strong taste of lemon. Hope they can amend on this!
