Fried rice and fish OK May 16, 2011
Categories : Coffeeshop

Feeling fried rice but wanted a big portion of it and not just a cup of the bowl of the rice, I added in the steamed/baked fish (definitely not fried I was avoiding anything fried this time tongue).

I had only this without any other meat/vegetable since the fish was quite huge, something like half fillet size and it was filling! The fried rice was quite tasteless however, and I needed to add in the usual soy sauce and pepper. But other than that the fish was soft and for the portion it was just the size I was looking for!mad

surprisingly good salad Smile May 15, 2011

Surprisingly, for some light supper I had their salad and it was quite filling and in terms of the ingredients they put in, it's quite extensive. For a level of a food court that is, the sliced cheese and chicken and ham bits gave the salty taste towards the vegetables. No mayonnaise or thousand island dressing so it was really light. This is a good snack for some diet! However the vegetable isn't so crispy fresh.

Osaka style ramen OK May 15, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant

This is the first time I tried this style or ramen, where usually its swimming around a hot pot of really rich in its broth, this one was a new "Osaka style" with sweet corn, a bit thick in its soup. The taste was new but not my kind of ramen.

It is sweet and with an extra soy sauce poured over it was tad better. I also had the gyoza which was crispy, which is a better compliment. For a total of $12 with additional like $2 for the side dish which was the 6-serve gyoza plus tax, the gyoza was the best buy.

late supper! Smile May 07, 2011

After practice from St Mary's, decided to get a some upper and surprisingly Jones was still open.

I ordered the cheesy baked mash potato for $6, which was originally a side dish but you could opt out for the bigger version. And it came out (well the info given by the girl who was behind the order said it's 3x than the normal sized small cup) bigger than expected!

The texture was of course not as light and soft but the potato mixed with the cheese was just too good. Too good and very filling. I even shared and I was soon dozzing off. Blame it to the carbs. mad

Poor watery soup base OK May 07, 2011
Categories : Food Court | Chinese Soup

Another outing for dinner, finally chose something that was close to where I sat. The fish stall here has so many accreditations as seen here.

I got the fish soup with mee sua for $3.70.

When it came, it looked empty compared to the one in the photo and with the soup base more clear. Then it hit me after I've gotten a spoonful that yeah I did notice the cans of condensed milk but then I guess you have to ASK for it if you want milk.

Without additional pepper and soy sauce I wouldn't think that the soup would taste better.
