My boss treated us to this En Japanese Dining Bar at Crown Centre.
They had buffet that costs about $40 plus near $50.
It's one of those restaurant along the road & whenever I take a bus to SIM,I'll see it.
Their main highlight is their shabu shabu.
I have never tried shabu shabu prior to this visit & my boss actually asked me to eat the beef slices & dip it into raw egg.
The beef slices were really good.
Initially I was afraid that it wouldnt taste good, however,it ended up tasting very good.
I love the soup stock of the shabu shabu!really tasty!not salty at all.
We ordered some sashimi, the tuna, salmon ones were good.
We ordered some tempura as well.
chicken karage were average.
The ingredients were really fresh & it left me a great impression.
The ambience was good as my boss had actually reserved a room like thing which we are suppose to sit on the floor to eat instead of chairs & we were given a private room.
Will definitely go back again despite the price.
However, location wise not very convenient as there are no mrt nearby.
This japanese restaurant was one of the first higher quality japanese restaurant that I went to.
Sashimi is a must at that place!

I was really surprised that no one actually reviewed with regards to this stall.
Everyday there will be queue waiting to savour the hot & delicious ban mian.
The soup stock is good & I have never gotten sick of it.
My favourite is the ah man ban mian.
Most people eat you mian/ban mian.
Their portions are big,can make one really full.
The ah ma ban mian was cooked well.
I love the round mee hoon kueh.It has this chewy texture which I really loved and with the bee hoon,it's a great combination.
It's cooked with generous minced pork & the vegetables are cooked just nice.
They always put the vegetables at the last part to ensure freshness.
I love their ikan bilis.
They have many regulars there.
I introduced ah ma mee hoon kuey to my friend & boyfriend & they ended up liking it as well.

Do try it & please post your reviews on it.
Would love to see what people feel about it.

Spending per head: Approximately $4.30(Lunch)

Decide to try Xin Wang Hongkong cafe after watching a movie.

Tried the baked rice, pork chop noodle.

The portions of pork chop noodle was pretty small.

Loved their baked rice.Super filling & great!
Even though Hongkong cafe are not famous for their baked rice,I find their baked rice good & filling.

Tried their custard buns.
Really good.
Sweetness just nice & the buns were fresh & hot.

Their drinks are served in a metal cup, very unique!

I tried their yuan yang & it's GOOD!!
Not alot of places have good yuan yang as it requires a good combination or tea & coffee otherwise the taste would be weird.

Their MANGO ICE is REALLY HUGE!!
Taste wise not fantastic,pretty normal.

Will go back for their baked rice & drinks & tim sum!

Yummy arab food OK Apr 26, 2011

Categories : Middle Eastern/Mediterranean

We decide to search for great arab food in arab street & found Altazzag!

We started off with HUMMUS & PITA BREAD which is AMUST!

We decided to order a grilled fish dish & a beef kebab dish.
It was served with rice & generous amount of vegetables.

It was really delicious.& pretty affordable as well.

They had spaces upstairs as well but we decide to stay ground floor instead.

The fish & meat were well marinated.
& the hummus with pita bread was good as well.

The orange juice was refreshing & quenched our thirst.

Nothing outstanding when come to Arab food but I really love the rice & that the proportion were healthy in the sense that there are vegetables as well.

Satisfying meal.Wouldnt come back again though. Will try other arab food in arab street.

Saw this promotion awhile ago & we decided to try it.

The whole buffet was pretty disappointing.
The pasta wasnt really good.very average.
Additional charge have to be given for the pizza.
The cheese fondue was great.
Chocolate fondue was normal.
The pancake were served with either savoury side dish or sweet.
I tried the savoury ones & the pairing tasted weird.
Preferred it with chocolate sauce & ice cream.

They had this ice blended section & the ice wasnt blend finely.
feels like ice kachang with change of syrup.

They had this chocolate fried banana.

I realise that the portions were really filling.
For each pancake dish we order,2 pancakes were given.
We ordered about 4 pancake dishes & there were 8 pancakes that we had to finish. Most of our stomach are filled with pancakes & banana.

It would be better if the portions are smaller to allow us to try more variety.

This is only good if you love pancakes.
Even the omelette they offer wasnt up to standard.
I tried a few & it wasnt good.

Really hope that they would improve on their food standard & variety.
The only thing they did was to take 2 pancakes & pair with salmon, bacon for savoury.& ice cream syrups for sweet.

Pasta was really bland. Not much ingredients were given.
Wouldnt go back again unless they improve their menu & food quality.
