Ok Food with Nice Ambience! OK Aug 07, 2014

Their Italia Eggs Benedict Doppio ($18.90++) was quite good. Love their english muffin, very crispy and nice! Their eggs were also poached to almost perfecton. Outside was a little over-cooked with inside half-cooked. I like the parma ham to complement with the eggs benedict, just that the parma ham was very salty..

Sweet Brioche French Toast ($16.90++) was disappointing.. It comes with scrambled egg, caramelized banana, french toast & mixed greens. The scrambled egg was super dry and overcooked! Very bad... The french toast doesn't taste nice like other restaurants.. It taste something like fried beancurd... You can give this breakfast a miss.

Homemade Creme Brulee ($4.90++) was alright. It was put inside a small egg glass. But i think it's too creamy.. It would taste better if it's not too creamy...

The Clifford Pier serves local hawker fare, Western Classics and Afternoon Tea.

We were here for afternoon tea. Price: $38.00++ per person

Note: Items are refillable for individual set and Items are non-refillable for sharing set.

Overall the afternoon tea items here were average so don't expect anything that is mind-blowing.. But they were very generous to provide so many items for afternoon tea. We feel very full after we finished the 2 tiers, so we have to force ourselves to finish the 3rd tier. Therefore i think no refill of the items is needed unless you're a super big eater..

The main attraction to dine here is the lavish ambience rather than the food. But somehow it's a pity that the local hawker fare does not fit into the classy ambience here... This gorgeous restaurant should serve fine dining food or at least serve other types of food rather than hawker fare.

Another attraction to have afternoon tea here: The pianist-singer has a very nice & charming vocal that is very soothing to the ear!! It's a great pleasure to be here to enjoy the lush ballads. Only on Mon-Sat from 3-5pm!

Revisited another day to try their Pandan Ice-Cream Sandwich (Photo attached). I love it so much!  The Pandan Ice Cream was marvellous! It was very smooth and creamy with the fragrance of Pandan and complemented the soft rainbow sandwich! It's very rare to find Pandan ice cream else where in Singapore. I'm glad to find it at The Clifford Pier! A very wonderful dessert to make you end with a smile! smile

As for the service, there were some hits and misses from the waitresses. Only the manager (Elvin) provides the best service which was worth to mention on that day!

Great Ambience for High Tea! OK Jul 04, 2014

This was around my 5th time to The Rose Veranda. Service was ok but not great. It's nice to see the waitress here were well-groomed!

I feel that the quality of the food/dessert was much better the previous times compared to now. Their cakes used to make me WoW last time but not so much now.. Overall still acceptable but this is Shangri-La so we would expect premium quality with this price of $45++ per pax. Overall I really like the cosy and elegant ambience here. Hope they can improve on the food quality and this place will be a perfect place for high tea!

Town restaurant is a very big restaurant that offers very extensive buffet spread! Quality of food here were mostly quite good and Service was great as well. Nothing to complain actually. The prices are very reasonable for the buffet spread!

Roasted Duck Open Sandwich: Delicious bite-size tender roasted duck sit on a crispy toast that u have to try!! Yummy!

Wa Ku Kueh: Colourful and soft mini wa ku kueh, best to complement with the orange sugar!

It's a refreshing jelly with a piece of apple and grape and very mild alcohol taste - Must-Try!!!

There are too much food items to show here. For all photos, please visit:

STREET 50 Restaurant & Bar serves hotpot on every Fri, Sat and Sun night too! What makes the hotpot here so special?

The hotpot here is served up in individual pots with unique designs of little dragons blanket in a sharp shade of royal blue and royal yellow. The pot was quite shallow so the broth needs to be refilled regularly.

Service was very good! Plates were cleared and ice-water were refilled promptly but do understand sometimes the service will be a bit slow when the place is crowded.

The food selection was simple and nice. I must say so far this place has the best soup after trying at different popular steamboat restaurants!

With Leeks, Cucumbers & Hoisin Sauce. I really love their smoked peking duck roll here, the sauce was generous and the smoked duck was very very tasty!! Besides the premium soup, I think this is another attraction to come here.

This is their popular dessert here - Durian Pengat! (My Additional Ala Carte Order, Not Included In the Buffet) Luscious durian pulp cocooned in crepe laced with liquid gula Melaka. It was very creative and captivating to see durian pengat wrapped in crepe, with coconut flakes outside! Not forgetting the small little fruits aside, infused with some wine to enhance the fruit taste, super nice! How i wish they can put more fruits and wine....
