Get together session @ Pin Si Smile Sep 27, 2010

Categories : Dim Sum | Seafood | Chinese Soup | Noodles

Last Thursday, 23 September a few of us were invited to attend an informal food bloggers get-together session at Pin Si Chinese Restaurant. This restaurant has being shifted over from it old located at Yishun Central to Yishun Safar since last year.

From the menu list, we are being served with appetizer, soup, a few main dishes and guess what, “Bird’s nest” as our ending dessert. Every one of us enjoys the great companies of new and old friends, food and wine as well as exchanging of our views on the dishes and a bit of our current updates.

These are some of my recommending dishes, which I find then worth trying especially the “Double Boiled Shark’s Bone Soup with Twins Treasures”. As a soup lover, I find this soup is almost perfectly done with its flavour thick and sticky texture that leaves your mouth and taste buds with all the goodness.

For more read-up on this full review, do stay tune on the upcoming post at my blog soon @ http://cuisineparadise-eatout.blogspot.com/

Other than KOI that draw large crowds from the bubble tea lovers, Gong Cha is also another franchise from Taiwan and there are only 2 branches in Singapore located at Novena Square 2 and City Square Mall.

Similarly you get to choose the level of sweetness range from 0, 30%, 50%, 80% or 100% which I will usually go for 30% only. So far the queue at Novena Square 2 was not that bad during lunchtime, and the average waiting time would be like less than 15 minutes or so.

I love milk tea, so usually I will go for their milk tea range like their signature Gong Cha Ali Shan Milk Tea with pearl. Their pearl is soft and chewy and the milk tea taste smoothing and great with that 30% sugar level which I find that it is just nice compare to 50%.

Mr Bean has about more than 30 outlets located island wide of Singapore where they offers a variety of soya bean drinks, beancurd, ice cream and snacks. This is one of their new outlet located at block 1G of Pinnacle @ Duxton which is beside the 7-11 and in front of the bus-stop.

From the usual silky soft texture soya beancurd with soy milk to a hint of Ginger or Almond flavour. Their Original Soya Beancurd which served with soy milk is always a good choice to start with for those who prefer something mild in taste.

Out of all the 7 different types of pancake they have on their menu list, the one with Cheese filling is always my first choice follow by peanut or kaya. And certain outlet also comes with "tuna" filling for those who prefer savory pancake over the usual sweet type.

Rooftop Garden Dining Smile Aug 04, 2010

Categories : Fusion | Restaurant | Seafood | Kids-Friendly

Chef Daniel's Kitchen, a newly setup rooftop restaurant located at the Sky Garden (level 7) of lluma at Bugis offers a very valuable Set Lunch @ S$10.50 Nett which includes soup of the day, main course, dessert of the day and a drink. These are some of the items that we have tried......

Soup of the Day:- They have a good range of soup such as cream of mushroom, corn, tomato and etc each day to go with the warm freshly baked herbal bread which comes together with the soup.

Prawn And Crab Meat Burger:- this seafood burger taste great with its yummy seafood patty that is moist and juicy. One add-on point is the fries that comes along with the burger is still hot and crispy while served.

Unagi Cooked in Katsu Sauce:- For me I guess I won't try a Japanese dish in a fusion restaurant unless it is highly recommended. But this bowl of unagi don should be able to fill up your tummy without much complains.

Spaghetti:- served with Pan-fried Dory fillet. This might be a great choice for those who love tomato sauce base spaghetti.

Dessert Of The Day:- Raspberry Mousse Cake is served with some tangerine sauce and the texture is kind of soft and moist with slight sour taste due to the berries.
