crispy treat Smile Jan 10, 2012

Having a chicken pie for lunch definetly an old school kind of lunch. that is, you can taste the butter in everything - the mashed potatoes, and the vegetables to boot.

Pie Kia with its unique name was in town for quite some time and some never even notice. they have variety of pies for everyone's different craving. Their crust are so crispy and flaky. What i like the most they often serve it hot and fresh everyday!

It is also a good choice to have for pot luck party, not too filling yet scrumptious!

craving for choc OK Jan 10, 2012

I came here for their famous rum and raisin soufflé, but it was out of order.

This is a place where you get indulge in all kind of chocolate. chocolate drinks, chocolate cakes and even ice cream using their top quality chocolate bean.

We have tried chocolate flour less cake, chocolate tart, and valhona lava cake as well.

We also tried their ice-cream for 5 dollars per scoop. Just ordinary to me. Tips for those who wanted to pay a visit, avoid weekend especially evening time, it usually packed with people and you couldn't get a table at all.

overrated pau Cry Jan 09, 2012

i think they really use to have mouth watering dim sum before they expanded their business to many branches. I still remember the old day my grandma will bring back tiong bahru pau for tea time.

I had this terrible pau last weekend at tiong bahru market. It is not fresh, the dough are thick and hard, the filling are so little which i can't feel it at all. It might be the staff who did not do the steam job well.

Other than that, siew mai not as good as before. it is getting smaller and smaller. disappointed....

24 hours coffee place OK Jan 09, 2012

Tom n Toms is a Korean coffee chain which i happen to visit this place when friend told me there is a 24 hours cafe in town.

I ordered an Americano - pretty average. I also ordered a Caramel and cinnamon brick toast, which is way too sweet for my liking. they do not serve much food other than coffee and some toast.

Still, Tom N Toms gets bonus points for being open 24 hours daily. With free WiFi, this seems to be the place to pull an all-nighter. Be there early as all the nice spot all be occupied by all the night owl especially students.

Another famous banana fritter stall. This stall serve variety of fritters other than banana fritters they do have yam, durian, and so on.

The banana fritter not as good as i thought, it is slightly small and not ripped enough to fried. The banana should be really ripe enough for a good taste. Other must try item should be fried durian, it is really scrumptious and heavenly durian just melt into your mouth. it cost sgd1 for one.

It is the best stuff to serve with ice cream too!
