Din Tai Fung Smile Jun 29, 2011

I have always been a fan of Din Tai Fung's xiao long bao. Everyone raves about it and you can see that 9 out of 10 tables would order at least a long of xiao long bao.

Besides the famous, all-time favorite xlb, I also ordered the 6-piece wanton (soup). The fillings inside each wanton was fresh, crunchy prawns with juicy minced pork meat.

A little pricey for Chinese food but definitely worth it.

Popeye's Smile Jun 29, 2011

I had a 3 piece chicken tenders meal, with my drink upgraded to ice lemon tea for just a few cents more.

The tenders are good, but the usual fried chicken ribs and drumlets are still better. Mainly because, I am not a fan of chicken breast meat to start off with and I feel that the tenders are really dry. At least the chicken ribs are juicy, makes the meal more enjoyable.

This bakery has a never-ending queue especially during lunch and evening, when most people knock off.

Their famous signature item is definitely the cream cheese raisin bun. People in line sometimes get a dozen of it at one go. I tried it and I love it.'

Soft like marsh mellows and the cream cheese, which tastes really natural, melts in your mouth. The raisin add to an extra touch!

Skinny Pizza  Smile Jun 29, 2011

Instead of what people would usually order, skinny pizzas, I chose to order fish and chips.

Served hot, with a side of golden seasoned truffle fries and salad. The beer(I think it's Anchor) battered fish tastes traditional and gives you the feeling of old British pub food. They also use red snapper instead of what most restaurants would use, cod fish.

The batter stayed crispy even when the dish cooled down.

Petit Provence Smile Jun 29, 2011

I bought these 4 pieces of white buns from Petit Provence, a kiosk version of Provence.

It cost $3.20, seems to be a little steeper than most bakeries but definitely worth it. First of all, the buns have a unique texture, chewy but soft, fluffy and fresh. They do not have any fillings inside but they do taste good with kaya and jam.

I have also tried the Wassants and they're excellent too.
