Local Laksa Cry Mar 30, 2014
Categories : Singaporean | Noodles

This Eat. outlet at Bedok is certainly new, cooling and comfortable.  We nice cosy seating and furnishings.  The service is also very friendly and fast as well.

Have saw the counter staff cooking the laksa gravy and was craving for it and had bought it to try.  For the price of $4.30, the portion is consider quite reasonable.  However after I have tasted it, I was really disappointed.

The laksa gravy is thin and flavourful at all.  It is not spicy and not creamy as well.  The rice noodles are chewy but the beansprouts since to be too little portion inside it.  Tau pok which is the fried bean curd cubes are too dry and hard, taste old.  Only the cockles are fresh but are very small.  Wasn't that impressive.

Fried Kway Teow Cry Mar 30, 2014   (Related Review)

Categories : Noodles

Many friends have been telling me that the fried kway teow from this Yong Huat stall is very delicious, so decided to check it out.

This coffee shop is comfortable as is quite windy and seats are quite comfortable as well.  The chef uncle is very friendly when I approached him for my order.  In less than 10 minutes, my fried kway teow is served to my table. For the price of $4, the portion is reasonable.

However I disagree with my friend that the kway teow here is delicious.  The kway teow, which is the main lead for this dish, is soggy and too soft easily breakable.  Not much ingredients can be found in this local delight and even the cockles are too small to be able to locate it in this dish.  It is also too oily and salty.  Disappointing.

Corn Bun Cry Mar 30, 2014
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Dim Sum

This tim sum stall is quite big and many choices available on their display board as well.  The boss aunty is very friendly and polite when serving me.

I have bought their corn bun to try, which at $0.80 each is consider quite affordable.  It was really hot and fresh when she pass it to me.  The bun texture is moist and was thin and easy to chew. However the very disappointing part about this mini snack is the sweet corn filling.  Very dry and although you can taste the sweet corn vegetables in it, it tastes abit sour and not flavourful. Would not recommend this to my friends.

This coffee shop is quite big but is quite squeezy and warm.  Not an ideal dining environment for tim sum.

Mango Sorbet Cry Mar 30, 2014
Categories : Italian | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | European | Ice Cream and Gelato

A simple and special treat from my cousin who had bought me a mango sorbet from this ice cream stick stall.  Priced at $4.00, which is quite high for a neighbourhood area.

The portion was not really that generous, and the ice cream stick looks simple and unattractive. Mango flavour was mild and not too strong.  Disappointing is that it is abit too sweet and quite diluted in its taste as well.

THe shop is small but is super clean and neat.  However I would not have come back again for a stick of ice cream here as is too expensive and not really that tasty.

Watami Cry Mar 30, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

It was really crowded here in this Japanese restaurant but I still managed to get a seat for myself after a long 15 minutes outside the restaurant.

The restaurant is quite warm and noisy due to it is too crowded with too many customers.  Restaurant layout is nice and cosy.  Service is very friendly and helpful too.

Have bought the Gomoku Kamameshi, which is the hotpot rice with seafoods ($12.80).  Salmon, prawns inside are very fresh but the portion was quite little.  Even the Japanese rice inside is also too little portion for me.  Taste was simple and no special flavour can be found in this dish except lots of japanese soy sauce taste.

Macha Parfait $6.80 is the green tea ice cream with some sweet topping.  Looks nice but too many cereal at the bother of this dessert and is too dry and not flavourful.
