Bengawan solo serve’s the best pandan chiffon so far. As a “chiffon” lover, i was pretty disappointed with what’s served at pine garden. It’s not as moist and soft as compared to bengawan solo. Not even comparable to yummi chiffon. But they do serve good blackforest cake and cheesecake. Price is slightly higher than average neighbourhood bakeries.

It’s a good place for high tea. A piece of cake, served with a hot cup of tea; the ideal afternoon that you can imagine. I ordered a serving of the lemon tart which cost $5.95 before GST. It tasted okay, nothing special but it goes well with coffee. It’s worth trying though.

It’s considerably cheap, considering the location and ambience. Their main dishes come with two free sides and there’s no GST. It’s a good place to have meal, gathering or a small chat. Food served is not too bad as well. Though i was a little disappointed with the lemon lime chicken i ordered, Aston’s is still a good dining place.

Good place to chill and have a cup of tea. I guess it’s suitable for anytime of the day. They offer toast, dessert and some other snacks as well. Try to avoid lunch hour though. It’s gonna be very crowded! Didn’t have the chance to try their snacks as i was very full from lunch but their food item look promising. Try for yourselfsmile

Old Chang Kee  (Ang Mo Kio)

I guess everyone has heard of old chang kee before. Their taro pie is fantastic! ( i love yam! ) their curry puff is next in the line. However, their sotong ball is a little disappointing. It’s hard and not juicy at all. Those you get from ntuc is much better. Their chicken wing is very oily too. well, their standard differs from stalls. So it’s good to try.
