Tim Sum at Parkway Smile Jun 28, 2011

This is one of the Crystal Jade Branches where I love to come for Tim Sum on weekdays for a late lunch... when most of the crowd disperse back to their usual work day. Not too sure why but I find the Tim Sum here better than some of the other Crystal Jade branches.. maybe it's the ambience and quiet moments of the late afternoons! Great food and shopping at Parkway thereafter always brightens up the day, especially towards a greater evening ahead!

Lemongrass @ Downtown East Smile Jun 27, 2011

If you have a craving for Tom Yam soup and want to have a quiet lunch, this is a good place to go in the east on weekdays.

They have 20% discounts on weekdays if you pay in cash! I love the chips to go with the chilli and their food standard has stayed constant over the years too.

Pitstop for Car Wash Smile Jun 25, 2011

Restaurants in Siglap are my fav hangouts in the east and it's just nice the Blooies is next to Groomworks, a car grooming center so it acts as a pitstop for car wash.

I go to Blooies occasionally when the car needs a scrub.. While the car is being showered, dinner starts too.. I love the Quesadillas, Nachos, Deep Fried Mushrooms and BBQ Ribs.. and of course, a good beer goes really well with it!

Hangout near the Prison! Smile Jun 23, 2011

Was out for a drive and drove past a cafe and my fren pointed out that it's called Bark Cafe! From afar, it looks like a great place to chill out.

One sunday afternoon, I decided to go for a lazy lunch and asked one of my frens out and we drove straight to Bark Cafe. We ordered the crayfish hor fun and nasi goreng which came recommended by the staff. They were generous with the portioning of the hor fun and ingredients and the nasi goreng was fabulous! Good place to chill out with frens, have a drink and a game of pool !

Big Fish @ Siglap Smile Jun 22, 2011

I was never a fan of fish because I was choked by fish bones twice when I was younger. I had to dine at Fish & Co a few times as I needed to attend some lunch and dinner gatherings but was never impressed with the food there.

One day, a customer of mine wanted to have fish for lunch in the east and we were brought to Big Fish at Siglap. It was a quiet afternoon and there wasn't much customers around so the first impression of this place wasn't that great. I placed an order for a snapper dish and the others had fish & chips and also the seafood platter. Every dish that came out from the kitchen was created with passion, the taste was great and the seafood were fresh. I was caught by pleasant surprise that I would actually fall in love with fish all over again!

Recommended Dish(es):  Catch of the day, Seafood Platter, Homemade Tiramisu
