Mom's Choco Fudge Cake Smile Jun 25, 2011

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

I had to buy a birthday cake over lunch and remembered I read an article in the newspaper about this cake shop at bedok and decided to check it out since it's 10mins away from the office. I bought the Crunchie Chocolate Fudge cake for a start and it was very well received although the cake was difficult to dissect cos of the crunchy base. That was when the shop first started..

Over the last few years, Mom's Choco Fudge Cake became my fav food to bring to parties I have to attend. The dark chocolate fudge was rich and creamy yet the cake is not too heavy even after a meal. 100/100 people love this cake whenever and wherever I brought it.

Black Pepper Char Siew Smile Jun 25, 2011

Categories : Teochew | Hawker Centre

The best Char Siew I have had so far is still from this stall. They used to reside in Maxwell Road Hawker Center and shifted to Pandan Loop last year. I managed to get a last meal at their maxwell stall 3 days before they shifted and found out they were shifting to Pandan Loop

A sucker for anything spicy or pepperish, this char siew is superb - the sauce, the pepper, the tendernes of the meat is just GREAT.

Bak Chang at it's BEST Smile Jun 23, 2011

I grew up eating rice dumplings from Hoo Kee and they have kept the standard well for many many years now. You have to order in advance as it sells out very quickly. Having tasted rice dumplings from many places, this Bak Chang is STILL THE BEST. The meat is marinated well and the salted egg adds flavour of the dumpling. I usually take a pair of dumpling and dip it in the chilli sauce that comes with it for lunch or dinner!

Hangout near the Prison! Smile Jun 23, 2011

Was out for a drive and drove past a cafe and my fren pointed out that it's called Bark Cafe! From afar, it looks like a great place to chill out.

One sunday afternoon, I decided to go for a lazy lunch and asked one of my frens out and we drove straight to Bark Cafe. We ordered the crayfish hor fun and nasi goreng which came recommended by the staff. They were generous with the portioning of the hor fun and ingredients and the nasi goreng was fabulous! Good place to chill out with frens, have a drink and a game of pool !

It was lunch time and I was at going to buy some stuff at Singapore Expo and stumbled upon the Texas Chicken Outlet. Out of curiosity, I decided to check it out, having eaten KFC for years, and then Popeyes. The queue was long but that did not deter me from getting a taste of the new addition in town.

The spicy chicken meal I ordered suited the taste buds well that day. I love the level of fire in the chicken, the tenderness of the meat, and the fries were excellent except I felt the sides were too small. Overall, it was also not as oily as KFC which is great.
