Jollibee OK Dec 07, 2014
Categories : Filipino | Fast Food | Halal

Decided to try out the food from Jollibee after the recommendation from my friend. When I reach the outlet, long queue can be seen and the outlet is almost fully occupied. After looking through their menu, I decided to order the two piece chicken set meal which comes with a small packet of rice with gravy, as well as a drink. For their chicken wing, the size is slightly smaller than KFC. The chicken wing is lightly seasoned with spices and the crispy level is not as crispy as compared to KFC but their chicken is quite tender. Next the gravy for the rice is slightly too salty for my preference but goes quite well with the plain rice. Apart from their chicken set meal, Jollibee also offers spaghetti, burgers and hotdog bun. Overall, I still prefer KFC than Jollibee due to the strong spices flavour as well as the crispyness. Price wise is around the same with KFC for a two piece chicken meal.

Oldtown White Coffee OK Dec 07, 2014
Categories : Singaporean | Café | Kids-Friendly

Old town white coffee is actually originated from Malaysia. One of their signature dish includes their speciality nasi lemak as well as their coffee. I decided to try one of their speciality nasi lemak which include deep fried chicken wing, some crackers, Ikan bills with peanut, half hard boiled egg as well as some cucumber slices. Their chicken wing is well marinated with spices and the batter is well seasoned as well. Texture wise has a very crispy skin and is not too oily. As for the cracker, it has a bland taste but goes quite well with the rice. However, the Ikan Bills is quite salty as compared to other nasi lemak stall while the peanut has a nice roasted taste. The chili sauce is not too spicy which I expect and is quite oily as well. Price wise is still affordable, but the quality of the food can still be improved further.

Nasi Lemak OK Dec 07, 2014
Categories : Malay

During lunch time hour, long queue can be seen from this stall. This means that the food must be so nice that people are willing to queue for it. So I decided to join the queue and try out on their food. I ordered the nasi lemak rice with grilled chicken, the deep fried cuttlefish and well as the archar. Firstly, the rice was not that fragrance as I would expect. Texture wise is soft and fluffy. Next the grilled chicken is well cooked and is brushed with a sweet sauce. Texture wise is soft and tender and the chicken can be separated from the bones with minimum effort. As for the deep fried cuttlefish, it has a crispy texture which goes very well with the nasi lemak as well as the chili. Lasty, the archar is well seasoned, refreshing and has a slight crunchy texture. Overall, I would say that the food is quite tasty but there is still room for improvement. But price wise is a bit pricey at around $6+ due to the large drumstick for the grilled chicken.

Pizza  OK Nov 22, 2014

Time for some pizza treat !! As part of their delivery promotion, it only cost $22 for 2 regular pizza and is definitely worth the money and the taste. I have ordered the tuna flavour, as well as the bbq flavour pizza. Firstly of all, the tuna flavour pizza is not well made as the serving of the tuna is a bit little and it is not spread evenly on the pizza itself. Apart from the tuna ingredient, it only consists of slices of button mushroom, sliced capsicum and last but not least the cheese. As for the bbq flavour, it consists of several chunks of pineapple as well as the chicken cubes. The bbq sauce is spread evenly and goes pretty well with the ingredients. Both the pizza dough is well knead and the thickness of the pizza is quite consistent.
Overall, I think the tuna flavour pizza can still be improved on.

Spending per head: Approximately $22

Korean BBQ OK Nov 22, 2014
Categories : Korean | Buffet | Korean BBQ

It's Korean BBQ time !!
Went with my family members for dinner at Ssikkek. There were a wide variety of food ranging from meat, main dishes, salad as well as the soup section. As for their meat section consists of chicken, pork and beef. However, not all of their meat are marinated. As for those that are marinated, the taste is just right. The main dish section includes dishes like the spicy korean rice cake, cream pasta, deep fried korean chicken and several more. Salad wise includes the traditional korean kimchi, potato salad which I personally think is a little too sweet and vegetable salad. Lastly, the soup section consists of the seaweed soup as well as the kimchi stew. Both are well seasoned and is not too salty.
Service wise is quite good as the staff will walk around and collect any used plate. Overall, the experience is quite good and with the price of $25 ++ for dinner, I think there is still room for improvement on the variety of food.
