Brought a cup of the grass jelly with soya bean drink after lunch.
With more and more stall selling the traditional soya bean and grass jelly drink, it is quite difficult to choose among those stall and to see which stall sell the best soya bean and grass jelly drink. At 846 yishun, there are two stall selling this tradtional drink. From the taste of grass jelly with soya bean from this stall, the soya bean has a more aromatic taste than the other stall. As for the grass jelly, I found that the taste is quite similar at both stall and the grass jelly is given at a generous amount. As for the sweetness wise, it is acceptable and not too diluted. Price is also quite reasonable at $1 for a large cup.

Brought a bowl of the fishball noodles for lunch at the 846 yishun kopitiam.
This bowl of fishball noodle comes with several minced pork, sliced fish cake and 2 pieces of fishball. The noodle is well cooked, soft and qq texture and not sticky. As for the seasoning wise, it has a light vinegar taste, mild spicy and a little oily. The ingredients used are quite fresh, the fishball has a very soft and spongy texture. Lastly, the soup is well boiled, has a light and refreshing taste. Price at $2.80 per bowl.

Brought a plate of the black soy sauce hokkien noodle with chicken wing and sliced cabbage for lunch at chong pang food centre. The black soy sauce hokkien noodle is well cooked, not too much of the sauce is added and sufficient seasoning is added. As for the chicken wing, it has a slight crispy skin, well seasoned, not too salty and the chicken has a soft and tender texture. As for the sliced cabbage, it is cooked with carrot slices, taste wise is a bit bland and is a little oily as well. Overall, quite a normal hokkien noodle with chicken wing and sliced cabbage.

Brought a bowl of the porridge for breakfast at old chang kee.
This bowl of porridge is paired with the nicely deep fried you tiao. Inside the bowl of porridge contains a few drop of seasoning, pepper, chopped onion and serveral pieces of minced chicken. The porridge is sufficiently cooked, has a smooth texture. The ingredients used is also quite fresh and the you tiao goes very well with the porridge. Overall, quite a light and tasty porridge for breakfast. Other than porridge, they also sell bee hoon and nasi lemak as other breakfast alternative.

Thai food OK Aug 28, 2012

Categories : Thai

We have ordered several dishes which includes the thai mango salad, seafood platter and the pineapple rice for lunch at lerk thai. Firstly, the salad have a generous amount of the mango slice, with a refreshing and very spicy sauce which is definitely not suitable for children. As for the seafood platter, it contains mussel, fish, sotong and prawn. As for the batter wise, it does not have a very crispy texture but the seafood used is quite fresh. The seafood is cooked with the minced garlic sauce and have sufficient seasoning. Lastly, the pineapple rice is presented with the pineapple with the flesh being scoop out. The rice is well cooked, has a nice aroma, a light yellowish colour and is topped with raisin and cashew nuts. Waiting time is around 10 to 15 minutes as only two chef is cooking and price wise is a bit too high as the food taste quite normal.
