Lao ban tao huay Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

I still remember that Lao Ban soya bean is a stall that I found that is very popular in selling tao huay few years back where long queue can be seen. Up till now, I am glad that after a few years Lao Ban soya bean has opened several outlets apart from their main branch at old airport road hawer centre. The quality of their almond flavoured tao huay still remains with the melt in the mouth sensation, a much soft and smooth texture compared to the traditional tao huay and a very aromatic almond flavour. Apart from selling tao huay, Lao ban soya bean has also started to sell soya bean drinks and also grass jelly dessert which I have yet to try. Price wise is still the same as compared to a few years back. Thumbs up!! [Review from mobile]

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court | Noodles

Brought a bowl of Ban Mian for lunch today.

Ingredients include vegetable, mince meat, egg and handmade noodle.

Taste of the soup was acceptable and quite refreshing.
Amount of vegetable and mince meat given was just nice.
Handmade noodle was cooked, just nice.

Chili was sweet and go well with the noodle.

Overall: Worth the money and most importantly the TASTE. smile

Buffet Lunch Smile Nov 22, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

In this Japanese buffet, it offers a wide range of Japanese cuisine food which includes sushi, ramen, Japanese steamed egg, curry chicken, salads and other main dishes. Although the price for their lunch is one of the lowest, there is a wide range of their sushi available which include the popularity salmon sushi, ebi sushi as well as the inari beancurd sushi. The sushi is made freshly on the spot and the chef will replenish once it is going low. As for their steamed egg, it has a very smooth and soft texture. At the bottom of the steamed egg contains small chunks of meat and crabmeat. The curry chicken is well cooked and seasoned just that the amount of meat in the curry is quite limited. Overall the variety of food with such a low price is definitely worth a try for people who love Japanese cuisine food.

Ramen Smile Nov 22, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Nowadays it is quite rare to see a ramen stall in the hawker centre. What attracted me to this stall is the unique design of their signboard. What so special about this ramen stall is that it uses an automated ramen cooking machine which boils the ramen given a preset timing and after which it will automatically remove the sieve from the boiling water. Coming to the ramen, the soup base is full of flavours and is well seasoned. As for the ramen itself, the degree of chewiness is just right for ramen. The hard boiled egg is pretty well cooked as it has a slightly watery egg yolk which I personally like it. Lastly, this ramen comes with a chicken cutlet which has a unique marinating seasoning which I personally feel that it is the best of all that I have tried. Thumbs up for the chicken cutlet. like Price wise is around $4.50 to $5.50 depending on the type of ramen. Will definitely patronise this stall again !!

Ge!ato Smile Nov 22, 2014
Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

What's good after a tiring walk around the shopping mall? Its Ge!ato time !!
This kiosk offers a variety of gelato which is divided into the classic, as well as the premium flavour. It is also having a 1 for 1 promotion for the cup version. I have chosen the classic version which is the salted caramel and the vanilla oreo flavour. For the salted caramel flavour, the sweetness is just nice, not too salty as well. As for the vanilla oreo, it has a light hint of vanilla taste and there were mini bits of oreo in it. Sweetness wise is slightly sweeter than the salted caramel flavour. With the price at $7.50 for 2 medium cups with  flavours, it is definitely worth a try !! smile
