Fried Kway Teow Smile Dec 22, 2014
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Came here with friends for dinner on a weekday and my friend recommended the fried kway teow from this stall. From the look of the presentation, it seems quite tasty. After tasting, the kway teow is full of flavours both from the seasoning as well as the fragrance from the wok. Sufficient dark soy sauce, other seasoning is added and does not too salty. Other ingredients such as the bean sprout, chinese sausage, fresh cockles and sliced vegetables were also added. Their cockle is very fresh, juicy and the size is quite big as compared to other stalls. Overall, quite a tasty fried kway teow from this stall.

Ban Mian Dry Smile Dec 22, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Chinese Soup | Kids-Friendly

With the recommendations from my various friend for the dry version of the ban mian from this stall. Here I am today to try out the ban mian. After looking through the cooking process, it is actually the same as cooking the soup version of the ban mian just that the soup has been removed. The seasoning of is made up of the addition of vinegar, dark soy sauce and chili. This three sauces combined together to form a unique taste which suits perfectly with the ban mian. The taste is quite different from the minced meat noodle seasoning. The ban mian itself is sufficiently cooked and the serving is quite a lot as well. Other ingredients include minced pork and some sliced vegetable. Last but not least, the soup is full of flavours and is not too salty and goes very well with the ban mian. Thumbs up for their dry version of the ban mian and will definitely recommend to my friends !! Come try it if you like ban mian. smile

Thai Cuisine  Smile Dec 22, 2014

Categories : Thai

Time to crave for some Thai food and after doing some read-up, I have found out this restaurant in Golden mile complex with several recommendations. The restaurant was quite packed during dinner hours on a Saturday. After looking through their menu, we ordered several dishes which include pineapple rice, sambal kangkong, mango salad, bbq pork, pandan leaf chicken and tom yam soup. As for dessert, we have ordered the tapioca with coconut as well as the mango sticky glutinous rice.
First of all, the waiting time is quite fast and the food is served within 4-6 minutes after ordering. For the pineapple rice, it is topped with a generous amount of the floss and the rice is still pipping hot when served. Taste wise is quite tasty with sufficient seasoning and is not too bland nor salty. Next, the sambal kangkong is sufficiently cooked, has a spicy taste and slight crunchy texture. The mango salad is very refreshing, appetizing and I think more sauce can be added. The bbq pork is quite normal and has a slight bbq aroma. The tom yum soup and the pandan leaf chicken is my favorite. The tom yum soup is very fragrance, full of flavours and is spicy enough. It includes ingredients like sliced squid, prawn, lemongrass and other spices. I think this is the best tom yum soup that I have ever tasted. Thumbs up for this. As for the pandan leaf chicken, the chicken is well seasoned, have a nice pandan aroma as well as a slight sweetness. The chicken itself also has a tender texture.
Lastly, as for the dessert, the mango sticky glutinous rice is quite presented. The mango is not too sour and taste fresh. The glutinous rice can be cooked longer as the texture is not too soft that I have expected. The tapioca with coconut is well cooked. The tapioca has a soft texture and is aromatic as well. The coconut sauce is fragrance but I think it is a little too sweet for my preference.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the service as well as the food standard. Will definitely recommend to my friends and will definitely be back for a second time !!

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Brought several slices of cake which include the nolgastic chocolate cake, traditional colour gel cake as well as the salted caramel sliced cake. Apart from this flavours, this cake shop also offers a wide range of various flavour of sliced cake. First of all the chocolate cake is covered with a generous amount of chocolate chip. The cake itself is a chocolate flavour, texture wise is not too spongy and the cake is slightly on the dry side. Next the salted caramel cake is coated with the Caramel sauce. This cake is made from a vanilla sponge cake which has filling that is made from caramel sauce together with the whipped cream. The thickness of the cream mixture is not too thick nor sweet. Prices start from $1.80 onwards which is very reasonable, taste and look appealing!! Will definitely come back for more sliced cake !!

Ramen OK Dec 22, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

It was my first time having Ramen at this restaurant. Their ordering system is different from the traditional way whereby this restaurant uses tablet. After looking through the menu, the ramen comes in 3 different soup base which include the white, black, as well as the spicy flavour. I ordered a bowl of the black tonkotsu ramen for lunch. First of all, the soup base is well brewed and seasoned, not too salty nor bland but is slightly too oily. As for the ramen itself, it is sufficiently cooked, soft and slight chewy texture. This bowl of ramen also come with two pieces of deep fry Tao kee which has a nice aroma. Next the Cha shu is not pipping hot when serve but is well seasoned with pepper and salt. The Cha shu itself has a very tender texture and the belly fat is not too thick. Lastly the ramen egg is well cooked, has a soft and slight runny egg yolk and a nicely cooked egg white. Overall, still quite a good bowl of ramen and price starts from $13.90 onwards.
