Brought a bowl of the lean meat with century egg porridge for lunch as I was thinking of having a light and not heavy lunch. This bowl of porridge comes with a complimentary you tiao to go with. The you tiao is very well deep fried, has a nice and golden brown colour and is not too oily. As for the porridge, it is sufficiently cooked, and the taste is enhanced by the use of the black pepper and the deep fried onion. Sufficient amount of the lean meat and the century egg is given, taste fresh and goes well with the porridge. Price is reasonable at $2.50 per bowl and the staff is friendly at taking orders.

Spicy Rice cake Smile Sep 06, 2012

After a walk at bugis junction, I decided to go for some snacks. Found this korean stall at the basement of bugis junction and decided to try their spicy rice cake. This is actually my first time trying this rice cake as I can hardly find it in singapore. The gravy wise is not too thick nor waterly, has a hot and spicy flavour which is suitable for people who like spicy food. As for the rice cake, it taste quite bland and texture wise is soft and very chewy texture which has similar texture like the pearl that we drink for bubble tea. Portion wise is quite reasonable with around 10 pieces of rice cake given and price at $3 for the normal size and $4 for the larger sizes.

Brought a plate of the satay bee hoon from this stall during lunch time.
Generous amount of the satay gravy is given and this plate of satay bee hoon includes ingredients like sliced cuttlefish, bean sprout, vegetable, cockles and the bee hoon. Firstly, the satay gravy is sufficient cooked and seasoned, has a nice aroma with finely chopped peanuts added in it. As for the sliced cuttlefish, it has a soft and chewy texture and goes well with the gravy. Other ingredients such as the bean sprout, vegetable and cockles used are fresh and well cooked. Lastly, the bee hoon has a soft and QQ texture. Price at $3 per plate and is definitely worth the try.

Brought a plate of the stir fried ginger pork rice from this stall after looking at their wide variety of food made available. Presentation wise is quite neatly and nicely presented with the rice and pork seperated and a pan fried egg topped on the rice. The pork is thinly sliced, has a very soft and tender texture and is cooked with slices of ginger and chopped spring onion. As for the gravy, it is well seasoned, goes well with the pork but is a little too salty. Lastly, the pan fried egg is well cooked and not too oily. Price at $3.50 for this stir fried ginger with pork and the food taste good and is worth the try.

Craving for desserts after lunch and decided to brought a bowl of the barley with ginko nuts and fu zhu.
The main ingredients for this dessert would be the fu zhu followed by barley and the ginko nuts. The fu zhu is thinly sliced, sufficently cooked and has a very soft and smooth texture. As for the barley and the ginko nuts, it is well cooked as well as both has a soft and chewy texture. The soup of the dessert is not too sweet and has a slight pandan aroma. Overall, a good combination of the fu zhu, ginko nuts and barley and this bowl of dessert cost $1.60.
