Taiwan feast  Smile Jul 24, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese

Brought several dishes for lunch which includes the deep fried sweet potato, braised pork rice and the 'coffin' toast.
The sweet potato is equally cut, has a nice golden brown colour, slight crispy on the outer texture and soft on the inside. It comes with the sour plum powder that enhance the taste of the sweet potato. As for the braised pork rice, the braised pork is sufficiently cooked and braised, has a very soft and spongy texture, sufficent seasoning and not too salty. This bowl of braised pork rice also comes with a braised egg and some salty vegetable. Lastly, the 'coffin' toast has a slight dark golden brown colour, contains a milky custard type of cream in the middle of the toast. The cream contains several ingredients that includes cube chicken, corn and other vegetables. The cream is sufficiently thick, well seasoned and goes very well with the toast. The toast is well baked, crispy outer texture and soft on the inside.

XXL Crispy chicken Smile Jul 24, 2012
Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese

Brought a set of the XXL crispy chicken with a cup of the lime juice.
The size of the crispy chicken is really large, larger than a human palm size. The crispy chicken is well deep fried, has a light golden brown colour, soft and tender texture and is sprinkle with the plum powder. The plum powder has a slight sour and sweet taste and goes well with the chicken. The batter is also well prepared, crispy yet not oily skin. The lime juice is light and refreshing, not too sweet and not too diluted. Price is reasonable and the crispy chicken comes in different flavours.

Milk bread  Smile Jul 16, 2012

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Have been patronising this cake shop for quite a long time as their bread taste good, freshly baked everyday.
Decided to buy a milk bread as a high tea snack. Firstly, the milk bread has a nice spiral design pattern on the top of the bread and is made up of 2 colours. The milk bread has a very nice rounded dome shape. As for the taste wise, it has a thin layer of the milk paste inside the bread, light milk taste, soft and spongy texture, similar to the mexico coffee bun. Other than bread, this shop also sells a variety of cakes that contain alcohol. Price is reasonable and taste good.

Yam puff Smile Jul 10, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Curries

Decided to try their wide variety of puffs as snack.
After looking at their range of puffs available, I decided to buy the yam flavour.
With the first bite, the light buttery scent of the pastry can be tasted. The puff is still warm when eaten, well deep fried and have a nice golden brown colour. The pastry is made of multiple layers, light, flaky and crispy. As for the yam fillings, it is well mashed, soft and smooth texture, sufficient thickness and has a nice yam aroma.
Others flavour includes durian, corn, sardine and many more. Taste good and is the price is reasonable too.

Fishball noodle Smile Jul 10, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

I have been patronising this stall for a few times as their food is really tasty.
This time round I brought their fishball noodles with mee pok.
Firstly, the fishball and other ingredients is totally seperated from the noodles and is placed in the soup. The ingredients includes fishball, meat ball, meat dumpling, several slices of fish cake and minced pork. Their soup is light and tasty, not oily. As for the noodle, it is topped with chopped spring onion which enhance the fragrance of the noodle. The noodles is well cooked, soft and springy, sufficient seasoning and a mild spicy taste.
