Carrot cake OK Sep 09, 2012

Brought a plate of the black carrot cake for lunch.
This plate of carrot cake is well cooked, has the right amount of the black soya sauce added and taste not too satly. The carrot cake is evenly cut, not too thick nor thin and has a soft and spongy texture. Sufficient egg mixture is added evenly across the carrot cake. To add extra crunchy texture, chai pok is also added into this plate of carrot cake. Presentation wise is quite appealing with the chopped spring onion sprinkle on top of the carrot cake. Price at $2.50 per plate.

Brought a bowl of the cendol for dessert after lunch at chong pang market.
With a simple presentation, the taste of the cendol is actually quite nice and refreshing. This bowl of cendol has a nice and aromatic gula melaka and coconut milk taste. The ingredients for this bowl of cendol includes the green cendol jelly, cubed grass jelly, sago, attap seed and red bean. As for the sweetness level wise, it is not too sweet and not too diluted. With a price of $1.20, it is definietly worth the try and is value for money.

Brought a bowl of the lean meat with century egg porridge for lunch as I was thinking of having a light and not heavy lunch. This bowl of porridge comes with a complimentary you tiao to go with. The you tiao is very well deep fried, has a nice and golden brown colour and is not too oily. As for the porridge, it is sufficiently cooked, and the taste is enhanced by the use of the black pepper and the deep fried onion. Sufficient amount of the lean meat and the century egg is given, taste fresh and goes well with the porridge. Price is reasonable at $2.50 per bowl and the staff is friendly at taking orders.

Brought a bowl of lor mee from this famous stall at the tiong bahru market. Long queue can be seen during breakfast hours and be prepared to queue. This bowl of lor mee includes ingredients like the meat dumplings, fishcake and the deep fried fish. Ingredients used are fresh and sufficently cooked. As for the gravy, it has sufficient thickness, well seasoned and goes well with the ingredients and the noodles. The noodles is well cooked and has a soft texture. Price is reasonable at $2.50 per bowl.

Tidbits OK Sep 09, 2012

Walk past this shop at northpoint and decided to take a look on what they sell. After looking around, I have decided to buy the old time biscuit and a packet of the vegetable crackers. The old time biscuit is quite common found in some bakery shops and different colours are used to decorate the biscuit. As for the taste wise, it has a crispy and crunchy texture, but the biscuit is not that fragrance as compared to other stall. The vegetable crackers is well cooked, has a very crispy texture, not very oily and taste wise has a light tapioca flavour. Price at $2 per packet.
