Minced meat noodle OK Dec 14, 2014

Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

What really make a good minced meat noodle? Well to me, the key to a good minced meat noodle is definitely the use of the well braised, juicy sliced mushroom, fresh use of the minced pork as well as the seasoning of the noodle. Last but not least not forgetting the texture of the noodle. The minced meat noodle from this stall is quite tasty but not the best that I have tasted so far. First of all, their braised mushroom seems to be a bit dry and less juicy than other noodle stall. However their minced meat is pretty well cooked. As for the seasoning part, it is a bit too watery, oily and not too spicy. The noodle was sufficiently cooked, not too dry and goes well with the minced meat as well as the mushroom. Lastly, the soup is light and refreshing and does not taste too bland. Overall, I think the taste can still be improved further and the noodle is available in $3 as well as the $4 portion.

Supper Time  Smile Dec 07, 2014

Categories : Indian | Malay | Coffeeshop | Halal

Along the stretch of road opposite beauty world, there are a lot of variety of food choices to choose from in the late hours. One of which include the Al-Azhar restaurant which is very popular as it has the most crowd during the night. The good point about Al-Azhar is that not only does it have a wide range of food ranging from prata, thosai, naan, mee goreng to even western food. The waiting time for the food to be served is also very short which took about 5-7mins. We ordered several dishes which includes chicken chop, prata, masala thosai as well the chicken and mutton murtubak. The serving of the chicken chop is sufficient for one person and the presentation is quite appealing as well. As for the masala thosai, the size is bigger than what I expected. The thosai also contains a generous amount of the potato fillings. A total of three gravy is given with the thosai and one of which is slightly spicy and salty. All the three gravy goes very well worth the thosai and I can say that it is the best thosai that I have eaten so far. Lastly, the chicken filling for the murtubak is slightly towards the bland side. But with the curry chicken gravy provided, it enhances the bland taste of the chicken. As for the mutton murtubak, the mutton has a chewy texture and is lightly seasoned. Overall, I can say that this is the best thosai and murtubak that I have tasted so far. Price wise is very reasonable and the waiting time is also very short. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes !!

Indian Cuisine Smile Dec 07, 2014

Went to Jalan kayu for lunch on a Sunday with my family member. We ordered several dishes which include the chicken biriyani, Indian Rojak, plain prata as well as the masala thosai. First of all the biriyani is well cooked, has a soft and fluffy texture. As for the chicken, it has a very soft and tender texture and the chicken can be separated easily. The gravy is a bit too salty for me but goes well with the chicken as well as the rice. Next the Indian Rojak is quite similar to other Indian stalls. The rojak gravy is not spicy and has a slight sweet taste. Lastly, the serving of the masala thosai is sufficient for one person. The thosai also contain a lot of potato fillings. In addition, it comes with four different gravy to dip with the thosai. The waiting time is not too long and the price is quite reasonable as well. Overall, the quality of the food is still the same as before and will definitely come back again next time.

Lunch Buffet Smile Dec 07, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Buffet

After completing a semester of hard work, it is time to enjoy and catch up with some of my classmates. Reservation for their lunch buffet is a must when eating at Kiseki due to the affordable price and at the same time offers a wide range of food or else you will have to queue up for quite a long time in order to get to your turn. Food wise include the popular sashimi and sushi section, deep fried section, Japanese section and many more. Having patronized for several times, I think that the quality of their food has not dropped with some minor changes in some of their food choices. My favorite food is none other than the sashimi and sushi section. Their salmon sashimi is very fresh and the thickness is there. The sushi section offers around 6 different flavours which include the beancurd sushi, Maki sushi and many more. Some of the food that is worth mentioning includes the tako-yaki, deep fried ebi, chawamushi as well as the Japanese mini hot pot. Lastly, their dessert section does not offer waffle anymore as compared to the past which I think is quite is quite pity. Overall, with a wide variety of food at such a low price is definitely worth trying for everyone !!

Mixed Chicken set Smile Dec 07, 2014

Categories : Korean | Fast Food | Halal | Korean Fried Chicken

Ordered a six piece mixed chicken meal which comes with fries and a cup of soft drink after shopping. In coincidence, they are having a discount for student for several of their set meal one of which includes the six piece mixed chicken meal. The chicken wing come with two different flavours which consist of soy garlic and the hot flavour. The sauces is quite tasty and is well seasoned, but is a little too salty for my preference. The chicken wing is sufficiently cooked and comes with a crispy texture. As for the fries, it has a slight crispyness and is sprinkle with some seaweed and chili flakes. Both the chicken wing and the fries do not taste oily although both are cooked by deep frying. Apart from the mixed chicken meal, they also offer burgers, sandwich, wraps and other varieties of food. Price wise is quite reasonable and the quality of food is quite good as well. Definitely worth a second try !!
