Traditional Breakfast  Smile Jul 01, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

Brought a set of the peanut kaya toast set for lunch.
Firstly, the soft boiled egg and well cooked, not watery and fresh. The size of the egg is sufficiently big as compared to normal kopitiam stall that sell soft boiled egg. The colour of the egg is also quite appealing with a nice bright white and yellow colour. The staff will also help to crack the egg before serving to the customer. As for the toast, it was well grilled, has a very crispy texture and a very appealing light golden brown colour. Sufficient amount of the peanut and kaya was spread onto the toast. Lastly, the coffee has a very nice coffee bean aroma, taste fresh, not too sweet.

Brought some of the a al carte dishes which includes the kungfu salad, carbona pasta and the clan of side.
Firslty, the kungfu salad includes pineapple, cherry tomato, green and purple cabbage, deep fried chicken topped with mini sprout. The sauce given was a bit different as compared to the normal salad sauce. The sauce given was in a thai style and has a mild hot and sour taste and has a refreshing taste. However the sauce was a bit too waterly but it goes well with the salad.
Next, the carbona pasta include sliced mushroom, ham and onion. It has a smooth and rich creamy taste, thickness of the sauce is acceptable. The pasta was well cooked, not too hard. However, I think that the ingredient added was a bit too little and can be improved. Chesse and chilli flakes was provided.
Lastly, the clan of side includes calamari ring, potato wedges and spring roll. Cheese and tartar sauce was also given. It was well deep fried, wedges has a crispy texure and soft in the inside. The calamari ring has a chewy texture, well cooked, not hard. The spring roll was filled with sufficient filling and has a crispy skin.
Overall, a good restaurant offering a mixed of chinese and western style of food and is worth the price and taste. lol

Starbucks is a cafe which provide good quality beverages. They constantly introduce new beverage to attract customer and provide more variety of choices to customer.
I Brought a cup of the soya green tea latte which is one of the two new type of latte being introduced recently.
This soya green tea latte has a special taste with a smooth and rich green tea taste. It is a very good combination of soyabean drink and green tea. This latte is a very unique combination which few cafe offers. Lastly it also provide a good customer service and the waiting time is short. Would recommend this latte to green tea lovers.

Traditional Chinese Pastries  Smile Jan 04, 2012

Brought some Egg Tart and Lao Po Biscuit to try. The egg tart was well made and cooked with a soft and smooth egg custard and also a bit milky taste. Although the skin was a bit soft, but the overall taste of the egg tart was good and was different from the other egg tart that is sold outside. As for the lao po biscuit, it has a crispy skin with a layer of melon in between. It has a light melon taste, chewy texture and a good combination. Overall a very good shop that offers traditional chinese pastries at a reasonable price. A MUST TRY IF YOU LIKE TRADITIONAL CHINESE PASTRIES !! GREAT FOR THE COMING CHINESE NEW YEAR ... GOOD !!

Deep Fried Fish and Sotong Smile Dec 13, 2011

Categories : Thai | Seafood | Zi Char

Family dinner at Bei Sheng Seafood Restaurant. Ordered several dishes that included their famous dishes like deep fried fish and sotong.
For the deep fried, the quality of the fish was very good, very fresh and has a soft and tender texture. The skin was extremely crispy, golden brown in colour and the sound of the crispy skin can be heard when cutting the fish. One good thing about this dish is that when it is served, it is piping hot and this proved that they prepare and deep fried the fish on the spot when the customer ordered to preserve the quality and taste of the fish.
For the deep fried sotong, it has a chewy texture and well cooked. It also has a golden brown colour skin, less crispy than the deep fried fish but the crispy level is still there.
Lastly, this seafood restaurant provides two different types of thai chili. One is red in colour taste has a mild hot taste and strong chili flavour. The other is a light green in colour that has a sweet, sour, refreshing taste and goes well with most of the dishes especially the deep fried fish and sotong. Price of the deep fried fish and sotong cost $16 and $9 respectively.
Overall a very good seafood restaurant that sell thai food in an economical price. Almost all of the dishes comes in different size from small to large to cater to different customers needs which I think is a very good way of providing more choices. Anyone who love thai food MUST MUST MUST TRY this seafood restaurant. Their business are very good in both weekdays and weekends, so come early to prevent overcrowding and waiting. Guarantee no regret !!
