Chiso Zanmai Smile Jul 25, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

Here is a very new experience at Chiso Zanmai for lunch yesterday! The food was so awesome and each person only costs around $19+ (including of GST and service charges)! It is in town! Such a convenient place for everyone! Food - there is a variety of them! The whole concepts is just like hotel! The dessert kiosk is my favourite! There is plenty of variety and made fresh with premium ingredients. The refill of salmon was fast and make sure all customers can enjoy it. Looks out of the window you can see extreme swing and boat quake! Awesome view!
This place is quiet and nice! smile A-star service with polite waiter and waitress! smile I WILL BE BACK!

Donuts Smile Jun 05, 2013

Categories : Bakery

I live in Pioneer and went to cake history today to buy breakfast. I brought a donut at $1.00. The donut is soft and i really like the icing sugar spread on top. The donut was fresh made as i saw the staff placed it on the shelf. On top of that, there is a variety of breads for us to choose from and from far you could smell the fragrant from bread. If you went there around 5.00pm till closing, you can also enjoy the promotion at 3 for $3.00 too! smile)

My very first Indian buffet Smile Jun 01, 2013

Categories : Indian | Vegetarian

This is my very first visit to Annalaksmi Janatha and is also my very first time trying an Indian buffet! The experience was great and I will visit them again for sure.

A little introduction on Annalakshmi Janatha first before i proceed; Annalakshmi Janatha was an North Indian restaurant which caters to Indian vegetarian buffet (as most North Indian are vegetarian). One unique thing that make them so special is they allow you to pay any amount you like after you buffet meal, no restriction at all. I really think this idea is great as it teaches us all about trust and I believe that there is no other restaurant in Singapore had this concept.

The location was slightly isolated from the town, although it was located at the town area. It took us about half an hour to get to that place. When i found the restaurant, the door was closed. I am not sure if it their culture or what, but no worries, because i had did my research before i left home; their dinner time is from 6.15pm to somewhere around 9pm.

The environment; the whole area was very spacious, bright and well organized. Even though their furniture is not up to date, they are all clean and very comfortable to sit on.

Part of the clean and bright restaurant.

The buffet corner.
Less than 1 minute time, we are been served to a table and the waiter asked what would we liked for a drink. I choose their sweet yoghurt (which i can't remember what they called it). It tasted like normal yogurt that we brought from NTUC (the original flavour), however, with a stronger sourness. But you will have to consume before the ice melted as it will start to become diluted.

The awesome yogurt! smile

The food there is indeed nice and the waiter introduced to us the dishes one by one patiently and they are very holistic. They will check on your table to help us refill our drinks, asked whether the food is nice. I really touched, they served their customers with their heart, it is quite rare to find this kind of service in Singapore anymore as many of the restaurants are lack of manpower and mostly are not trained on how to treat their customers.

I tried on almost all the foods and is really an eye opener experience as most of their food i had never seen before such as their yoghurt porridge- slightly sour and mixed with some vegetable to cook with it; lemon rice cooked with yellow bean the yellow bean helped the dish to become more crunchy. Their thosai was the best, i tried many thosai in life and i think they made the best Thosai - i believed the Thosai was cooked for some time however it crispiness are still retained after hours.
AS for my friend, she particular like the potato there. It was well-cooked that it was very soft and the spiciness level was just right for us.

Last come the watermelon to end off our buffet. it was very red and juicy. *yummy!*

After our dinner we went to make payment at the counter, they allowed us to pay by visa too, other than cash! Nice experience to conclude my visit to Annalakshmi Janatha!

Dinner @ Porn's Smile May 30, 2013

I just came back from my dinner at Liang Seah Street! Awesome pineapple rice! I would like to have more if possible! smile The portion is really quite small and charged the price $9.90 without GST and service charges.

I particular like the cashew nuts added to the dish, when it is mixed with the rice, it taste so crunchy! smile The pork floss at the side improve the saltiness of the dish. Another thing is the prawn, it is so big and fresh. Definitely worth the price! smile

Sin Lee Lor mee Smile May 27, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre | Coffeeshop

To post on how can i am able to find such nice lor mee in such ulu place, i will have to bring you guys back into history, around 21 years ago. Well, before my birth, or rather before my parents get married, they used to live there, so this is one of their favourite lor mee stall in the whole Singapore! After they moved out from Bukit Ho Swee, they often came back for their lor mee and prawn noodles too, even when the time my mother was carrying me.

When i'm still a foetus, my mum experience morning sickness every day. She totally lost her appetize and the only things that she will eat is is SIN LEE LOR MEE and she can gobbled down 4 bowl of it at the same times! mad

Well, this record is so scary that the boss came to tell that even if you are pregnant, you shouldn't gobble down 4 bowl at the same time! Haha! My mum said that she was very embarrassed! However, she had never lost faith with this store! smile

I think now the boss was retired and his children took over his business, but you will still get to see every day at the store! The standard had slightly dropped after his children took over (according to my mum), nevertheless, it is still the best lor mee i had ever eaten. Each lor mee costs around $3, if you had a bigger appetite you can try the one at $4. This lor mee does not come with egg, so you will need to pay 60 cents more the egg. However, i think is worth the price. Just look at the pictures, they eggs is so "dark" that i think a lot of effort and time is needed before the colour and taste goes well!

Their prawn noodles is also another signature dish of the stall! If you get a chance to pass by there, please try it! Because the stall and the flats there looked a bit old, so i am afraid that the government might want to tear down! One last additional information is that they are closed on every Sunday, so to avoid disappointment, visit them on a weekday instead! smile
